Billmanweh
Which books or DVDs would be recommend to beginning shooters? I've been poking through some old threads, but just wondering what the current list might look like...
Nimitz
i still like Skeeklander's Your Competition Handgun Training Course and the associated DVDs. it's a complete program, not just drills that you follow, in 3 stages. includes everything you need to do, dryfire, live fire and even mental training and vision training ... if you're new to the sport and don't know what to do and where to begin you just start on page 1 and follow the book. Depending on how often you can live fire the 3 stages of his program could take you the better part of one year to complete ...

blairmckenzie1
Brian's book is one of my favorites, no matter how many times I read it I find something else. : http://www.brianenos.com/store/books.html Ben Stoeger has some good videos that give you some good dry-fire stuff.: http://www.benstoegerproshop.com/Training-to-Win-with-Ben-Stoeger-DVD-p/ttw-dvd.htm
Billmanweh
I was really thinking about pistol shooting books and dvds that might be good for beginners who are serious about learning to shoot or might like to compete
vnboileau
How about podcasts?
DWNZRO
I learned a ton from Magpul Dynamics - Art of the Dynamic Handgun DVD. Now, whenever I'm showing someone new how to hold a pistol, I go through Travis' steps word for word.

MrtyWood
I have to say Lanny Basham books and Anderson, Stoeger and others are in mine. I have a combat defense book that helped me as well....can't remember title....
GunBugBit
My beginner's library is: Brian's book and Steve Anderson's dry fire book. These two together are a great combo. I have other books on shooting but those are the ones that address the competition shooter specifically.
blschultz
I've always been a decent shooter but am new to this competition thing this year. I've already learned and improved a lot by reading Ben Stoegers book and watching his videos. As well as Lanny Basshams book. Also it helps to find people to shoot with who have the experience and knowledge to assist with questions and seeing were you can improve.
