Sarge
I have seen it mentioned here a few times but even I can't find it by searching. lol Why are there bottom screws in a 2011 grip? Why not just make the grips without the holes. Or why not a plastic logo plug? I would like to make these screws go away. What are my options? repins1911
Can't remember where I read it but, the bottom screws are for aesthetic appeal (eye of the beholder). You could fill them in, most of the epoxies can be stippled and you just add black (or whatever color your grip is) dye.
gng4life
My guess would be to simulate the look of a 1911 since they serve no other purpose. It was funny one time when I ordered a custom grip from Jim at APS. I asked him if I could have it finished without the lower fake screws and he acted surprised saying something like, "you don't like them?" [emoji15] If you don't want to do it yourself, he might take care of it for you. Sent from the range
