krazykj03
Hi was wondering which dust covers do you guys recommend for limited and open? Is there a difference in the short and long dust covers? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
3djedi
I like a short dust cover. Seems to balance better and better transitions. However, I have little experience with 2011's and almost all I see have the long dust covers. I don't pay attention to open though.....

MikeRush
Hi was wondering which dust covers do you guys recommend for limited and open? Is there a difference in the short and long dust covers? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk You can always cut a long dust cover down but it is much harder to extend a short dust cover. I like short dust cover guns a lot. Its all about balance and aesthetics though. You really should try both and see what you like.
LilBunniFuFu
Hello: Short dust cover for open and pick one for limited. I would see which one suits you better for limited. Thanks, Eric Short is easier to transition and move in open. In limited is the same thing but you have less weight to absorb recoil so it come down to personal preference. I prefer the shorts though. andy27al
The best thing you could do would be to get behind a couple of each and see what you like. A few local matches and you should have a great idea of your preferencev Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
meanzbullet
What about the butler cut? That is a short long, right?
FowlShot
I'm in the same predicament. I am just beginning to look at the 2011s and having a tough time deciding. I'll be following the info here very carefully.
tk4
I run a long wide dust cover with a tungsten guide rod. Get the long wide. Run it with and without the tungsten guide rod. If you like it better without the tungsten, have it cut back halfway to standard length and repeat the test. Personally, I shoot a heavy gun a lot better. If it causes a balance issue, add a Heavy DP Ice magwell and a steel mainspring housing.
