shooter.860
Looking for opinions on thumb rest, I feel that ones mounted on scope mount are too far away for my liking. I saw one that was attached to the slide stop - any issue with this ? I'm brand new to a 2011 gun.
LilBunniFuFu
If your gun is set up to last round hold open they will disengage that. Other than that I have seen many people run them with no complaints. They just are not as adjustable as some of the other flavors. All depends on your grip if this matters or not. jcc7x7
Might want to try one before you make a decision on it If you're new to 2011 you may find that it feels and more importantly works fine Probably a guy you shot with has one and will let you shoot his gun and give it a go PT slide stop thumb rests feel real good also so that is a viable option
HI5-O
I had the mounting pad of mine milled down so it now sits closer to the slide.

turkeypoker
I have both, a PT one and drilled and mounted one. They both do a great job
shooter.860
I ordered the DAA version. Another question - thumb safety is a fitted item or an easy swap out? I only have a single and want an Ambi version.
grantwoodok
Thumb safety would require fitting. If you're not comfortable with a 2011 pistol yet get a gunsmith to do it. As far a suggestions I just fitted a Phoenix Trinity ambidextrous safety with thumb shield and I'm very happy with the results.
