BiggenF15
This is interesting! I've heard lots of criticism regarding the Gen 4s - different components, "weird" feel, etc. I'm glad to see there's so much support for the Gen 4 in this group. RangerTrace
I wonder why ZEV only uses Gen 3s for their full builds?
safeactionjackson
No clue, but gen4 9mm are still not sticking around long, while gen3's seem to be readily available. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
JBP55
I wonder why ZEV only uses Gen 3s for their full builds? Cheaper, readily available and they are set up for Gen 3 work. I went all Gen 4 as soon as they were available and never looked back. The dealers will tell you the Gen 3 pistols are moving much slower than the Gen 4 pistols. b1gcountry
I wonder why ZEV only uses Gen 3s for their full builds? Gen 4 have a slightly different geometry to their ejector housing. The connector sits at a different angle, making the trigger pull slightly heavier with the same connector. (thank you benos for this bit)The rsa is also easier to swap out on a gen 3, and allows a heavier guide rod (i think, haven't measured them myself...) The Gen 3 trigger pull using the same components is approximately 8oz. lighter than a Gen 4 not heavier.
