I have looked at the OLD threads, not much new info for the last 2 years it seems, maybe timers haven't changes much over time.

Anyway, I'm looking to purchase a number of timers, most likely the Pocket Pro ll or the CED 7000

I'm leaning toward one, I have used both as an RO.

Or maybe there's another out there at a similar cost, that you would reccomend?

Which would you buy and why?

Pocket Pro II for ROing matches

CED 7000 for practice

CED 7000 is easier to set, more features, and a better size for clipping to you while you practice.

Pocket Pro II has a buzzer more shooters are used to and can hear, larger display to show to scorekeeper, and replaceable batteries.

I have the pocket pro 2, and really like it, z although I've never used the ced. The big blue case just seems like it will take harder abuse, but that is based purely on its looks. I have used the yellow timer at matches, and i really dislike that one.

I like the CED 7000 for training. Setting par times and getting your splits etc is easy. My club uses the pocket pro 2 for matches. I have to hand that thing off if someone wants to review their stats.

Ended up going with the CED7000,

Really the only reason was having to push 2 buttons to reset the shooters time.

The PPll could be reset accidently by hitting the start button again.

I have a PPll myself, I do like the larger display on the PPll
