toothandnail
I have looked at the OLD threads, not much new info for the last 2 years it seems, maybe timers haven't changes much over time. Anyway, I'm looking to purchase a number of timers, most likely the Pocket Pro ll or the CED 7000 I'm leaning toward one, I have used both as an RO. Or maybe there's another out there at a similar cost, that you would reccomend? Which would you buy and why?
Avezorak
I like and use the CED7000's. Easy to set par and easy to review splits. I have never had an issue with one.
Bob DuBois
I'd go with the CED 7000 purchased a pocket Pro but like the CED 7000 as it's real easy to stick in a pocket when scoring.
shel6977
I personally have a pocket pro 2 and where I shoot both uspsa and 3gun use a pocket pro 2. I think it is easy to use and have yet to have a problem nor have I seen one quit at a match.
exmr2sw
The Pocket Pro II is great and is the standard for around our area. the CED (I think) has a louder buzzer and is slimmer..
Bryan 45
I favor the CED 7000. It's easier to keep up with, easier to set the Par time, delay, etc. It's also capable of higher max par time for the really fun stages. (200 seconds+)
BOOM
I need a timer; which of the 2 would wok best for dry fire practice drills ? Handgun / AR / shotgun reloads
Twardca
Ive used a pocket pro II a lot lately and have no complaints, easy programming and easy review of splits
jtielke
Pocket Pro II for ROing matches CED 7000 for practice CED 7000 is easier to set, more features, and a better size for clipping to you while you practice. Pocket Pro II has a buzzer more shooters are used to and can hear, larger display to show to scorekeeper, and replaceable batteries.
b1gcountry
I have the pocket pro 2, and really like it, z although I've never used the ced. The big blue case just seems like it will take harder abuse, but that is based purely on its looks. I have used the yellow timer at matches, and i really dislike that one. AWLAZS
I like the CED 7000 for training. Setting par times and getting your splits etc is easy. My club uses the pocket pro 2 for matches. I have to hand that thing off if someone wants to review their stats.
varminter22
I too am wanting to purchase a time. Large, easy-to-ready display and ease of use is important. Pocket Pro II a good choice?

toothandnail
Ended up going with the CED7000, Really the only reason was having to push 2 buttons to reset the shooters time. The PPll could be reset accidently by hitting the start button again. I have a PPll myself, I do like the larger display on the PPll
