ickus
I built my open Glock 34 with a KKM barrel and 5 port aluminum comp from SJC. ran maby 3,500 rounds. same fmj bullet, powder, and recipe for a PF of 174. It runs fine... 3 weeks ago I got an 11 port alum comp from SJC. made sure it was the right bore, threading was fine. ran 500 rounds FINE. shot a USPSA yesterday (could of done better) but not a burp... runs fine. Today I'm shooting a Steel Challenge match... suddenly my hits are 5 feet off to the left, thought C-mor whent bad!......I did that 4 or 5 times before I DNF'ed my self. I get home and see that it was the bullit hit'n off the right end side of the comp. first 3 ribs are ok. last 3 ribs are mar'ed would a bullit start to tumbull that close to the barrol. neaver saw a sign of tumbulling on cardboard or paper! What do you think? Edited March 17, 2014 by ickus

DRichardson
Are your steel loads the same as your uspsa loads? What bullets are you running? If they are FMJ is there sighs of leading in the comp?
rishii
Check the comp for cracks, it might be flexing when a bullet passes thru it Also did you use a comp reamer after you installed it
troupe
EGW makes a great reamer. Carbon build up will cause the problem also.
BoyGlock
Check the comp for cracks, it might be flexing when a bullet passes thru it Also did you use a comp reamer after you installed it So, which comes first, the comp cracked due to flexing or it flexed due to a crack? Had the same experience twice, all under 5k maj 9, at about the same mileage as the OP. Mine both cracked at the last baffle. Same kind of SJC comp on a KKM 9 barrel. It could be the threads on the barrel and/or comp are not perfectly concentric w/ the bore, Or the comp is too long and thinned by numerous ports causing it to flex or vibrate too much and misalign w/ the bore in live fire. Rick88
Damn, I have never seen a slide crack like that then add your comp issue. The only thing I can think of is some serious barrel fit problems...
