kneelingatlas
Apparently I've become a real beaver tail snob... My TriStar T-120 is tight, smooth and even fits my favorite grips; the only trouble is the beaver tail: it's short and narrow just like a CZ75B. By comparison the CZ SP01 and Shadows feature a longer beaver tail: Lastly the Tanfoglio has the best beaver tail in the business!
Rick88
That tangfoglio tail looks great, my Canik has an aluminum frame and I have a tig your giving me bad thoughts :-)
cpa5oh
Hand isn't lower relative to the bore on the Canik, is it?

cpa5oh
I'd probably like the Canik better, then...maybe someday they'll be Production legal.

kneelingatlas
This ugly duckling had an intolerably stumpy beavertail so I decided to do a little experimenting: I welded some extra meat onto the beavertail with the intention of cutting it down to size, but it turned out so smooth and sexy I couldn't bear to cut it

blfuller
That's nice. If you run out of ammo you can stab them with the beaver tail. kneelingatlas
It was a surplus gun off gun broker so it made an excellent test mule I have pretty large hands, so the original little stump made shooting even minor loads uncomfortable, in addition to the beavertail I increased the stroke of the slide which makes it shoot considerably softer as well; I'd say it feels like an SP01 with the weight of a standard 75. I really need to get a surplus 75 to cut up. How much did you increase the stroke? Any plans on undercutting the trigger guard and/or beavertail area? No plans for undercutting, the 75 frames don't have as much extra meat there as the TS frames.

Just curious ive seen people undercut them before just didn't know if it was worth the effort and how much could be gained.

I wonder if using a full framed gun like the sp01 or TS and adding even more stroke say .300 to .400 would be better or do you get to the point that the slide is so far back you get a pendulum kind of effect. kneelingatlas
I stroked my TS Open gun by 0.500", then gave 0.150" back by adding a buffer; I haven't filmed in in slow motion yet, but it's nice ?

Did you remove equal amount of weight and how much? Doesn't look like a whole lot more could be removed or more stroke added so I would love to hear how see runs. Also neat work on the front and back straps
