Paul-the new guy
I use 10.4 of 3N38 with a 124JHP MG but I have 5 holes in my barrel. Sounds like a cannon but very flat
mcbutler
10.0 gr 3N38 at 1.250 with 124JHP MGs through Trubor. Very flat.
lcs
I tried a lot of powders with 38SC and 3N38 always won. Depending on the gun configuration (barrel holes), HS6 works dang good also.
eric nielsen
My gun only needs 9.6 of 3n38 (or 9.6 of Vectan SP2) to comfortably make Major w/124 MG CMJ's. No porting thru the 5" barrel. Another great combo is 10.xx of HS6 and 115 grain jacketed bullets. Back when Zero 115 JHPs were available & reasonable cost that was a great way to go; now you're luck if you get any Zero bullet w/less than 3 months wait and less than $100/thousand. Tried many powders & bullets thru my guns and friends' guns; nothing really beats the options above.
Durtarg
I've had very good results with VV 3N37 & HS6 with MG 124gr JHP 8.3gr 3N37 9gr HS 6 Both at 1.235 gives me 172pf out of my STI Grandmaster using small rifle primers. galt11
Anyone still using VV N340 with 115s? That was our recipe from years ago
Shadow
The 3N38 loads mentioned above or 7.6gr of 7625 with MG 124 @ 1.
67camaro
I'm using N105 with 124 MG's making major at 10.0gr no holes no pressure signs using SPP. If you can't find 3n38.
