Red Ryder
I too had a new 1911 feel too slow and malfunction. I ditched the recoil master, used a shot load of oil, and upped my powder charge. Make sure the ammo is ejecting more than 2 inches from the gun. Then I shot the gun, a lot. Smooth as butter now.
rack&roll
Use plenty of oil, and a heavier recoil spring...(13-14lbs.) Problem solved!
gdcguns
If you are also using any kind of oil on the gun, get rid of the frog lube. Frog lube and oil based lubricants don't play we'll together.
Doc10mm
I had this exact scenario that the OP described. I traded the recoil master with a Dawson tooless and switched from microlon to slide glide lite. No issues since then.
Red Ryder
To sum it up, use lots of OIL, ditch the recoil master, use more gunpowder, and keep the gun clean when shooting dirty gritty powder.
ambluemax
Put down the frog and back away slowly. I love frog lube, but it is a pain in the butt for 1911/2011's. I really love the product. I put a lot of time into applying and using it properly and improperly, but it is just not well suited for application on a 1911/2011 I had exactly these kinds of problems when I started using it and they went away as soon as I went back to a conventional synthetic. I still use it alot on rifles and other stuff, but tight tolerence/high friction for our applications. By the time the gun heats up to activate the Frog Lube, your run is over.
