sandflea
I have a 5 inch M&P Core that I would like to put a tungsten guide rod into. Speed Shooters Specialties have them on backorder, is there anyplace else that carries them? Thanks
kend
I just finished a batch this afternoon so they should be back on the website by tomorrow, maybe tonight.

Kenny , What recoil spring do you recommend to run with the Tungsten rod in 4.25 9mmm M&P?
kend
It would depend on the ammo, if you're using a factory velocity type ammo use a 15# but if you're using a lower power factor ammo in the 130-ish range use a 13#. Either way, be sure you run enough of the same ammo through it to be sure it runs 100%.
Pinka
Just ordered one myself, when you getting some of those cool colored base plates in???
thermobollocks
The TTIs are available from a number of places, but I got mine and my springs from SSS . I haven't experimented with lighter than factory springs in the least, but the guide rod works great for Prod and 3-gun.
bigkyle72
What is the purpose of these guide rods VS stock?
barneyb
What is the purpose of these guide rods VS stock? A little bit of recoil management. The muzzle won't rize as much after the shot and you will be able to get a second (aimed) shot off a little quicker.
thermobollocks
On the plastic guns especially, it's impressive what another 0.75 or so ounces of front weight can do. Steel challenge, I'd use steel so I can swing faster, but USPSA and 3-gun, it's noticeable and helpful.
Pinka
Anyone have issues with their gun going in to battery after installing one of these with a 13lb spring? From slide lock in goes in but when manipulating the slide it doesn't like to lock up, haven't fired it yet to see how it acts while running ammo through it. bthoefer
Some guns won't run with a 13lb spring. You can try a lighter striker spring to make sure the slide goes into battery. The apex striker spring has never given me any issues. I have one that runs with a 13, and one the will not stay in battery with less than a 15lb. BradfromND
I have a 13# spring on mine but had a lot of weight machined off the slide too.
