EkuJustice
So Winchester has a recall on their M22 22LR ammo on 2 lots due to double charges. So I check my supply sure enough I have the ammo in that lot. Basically the options now are return it and get a check in the mail(not replacement ammo) or shoot it and chance it. At this point I am really considering chancing it as that's basically my entire stock of 22 and the check means nothing if I can't find it to replace. At least they offered to refund the money but It puts you in a bad spot if you cant find replacement. I am really leaning toward just keeping it and chancing it as that would put me out of steel for the year http://www.winchester.com/library/news/Pages/s22lrt-recall.aspx
Pat Miles
Twould be interesting to open one up and see if ti would be possible to actually double charge one. As far as the $$$ received, is that in today's current market cost of 22 ammo? Pat
Lifeislarge
I'd keep it. There's a douche bag locally trying to sell Remington Bucket O'Bullets for $200 a pop. I just can't believe that of all the calibers, .22 is the hardest to get.
EkuJustice
Nope it's not paid at scalper rates If it were easy to get at normal prices I wouldn't have an issue and it would be going back without worry It's just kinda hard to give up the vast majority of the 22 ammo at a price it would be hard to replace at without camping out at Walmart
JimmyZip
Especially when I just picked up a S&W 15/22. I had to trade some .308 ammo finally for it and some bullets. Just not much around here. Hopefully that will change sometime soon.
Ming the Merciless
Winchester will replace the ammo, IF you are insistent enough.
kevinj308
I've got to go check my lot numbers, but if I've got some of the recalled ammo my plan is to weigh them on my reloading scale. They're just to hard to come by not to do a little troubleshooting. I've got more time than rimfire ammo right now Take care Kevin
Sarge
Checked all of mine. One less thing to worry about!
outerlimits
I'd take my chances and shoot it. Haven't seen 22lr ammo for years
