jaffo
I apologize if this isn't the right place for this post. My dad has always loved old Colt pistols. He has a 1903, 1907 and a ton of 1911's. He has one 1911 he loves that is circa year 1913. It has all the US Government markings. He occasionally carries it on the ranch. Recently he went to put it away and the front site was gone. I haven't seen him this heartbroken in my lifetime. Regardless I just want to know where I can get another original front site. Also, I have no clue how to get it fixed. I don't want to hurt the value by having poor quality workmanship. I appreciate your feedback. j
Steve RA
Jimmy Mitchell over in Breckenridge would do a fine job of installation. You might contact him about finding an original front sight. http://www.bulletworks.com/bulletworks/bulletworks.html
Guy Neill
Or check with Cylinder & Slide They have made some reproductions matching some of the original parts - at least grips that I recall.

CHARLES D
Gene Williams does excellent work. He is just a bit north of F.W. Send me a P.M. If you want a contact #
Blue Jacket
You might even try Colt. They did a reproduction of an early 1911 (not the A1)
