Ed Brown

I ordered a few Ed brown parts a while back but just put them in my parts box. Tonight I opened up the beavertail and it looks like a different profile than the ones I bought years ago.

Is it my imagination or has Ed Brown changed the profile a little on the beavertail?

The original grip safety when done with a high cut frontstrap really did make a differance on the 1911s that were available when the Ed brown parts hit the market. SInce then what is available over the counter has really come a long way as far as custom features.

King's had one that was very close to the original EB but they are now gone. Picking from what is now available I like the STI GS with what they call the knuckle cuts on them.

Now that you mention the McCormick that could be who I am thinking of instead of King's. The Rock Island Tactical models have what looks like the original profile. Took a quick look at the Brownell's website but did not see anything close to the original EB.
