outerlimits
ok, this is getting sad. anyone got ideas on how to avoid having bolt handles flying off a shotgun? i lost a choate off an 1100 a few years ago. i lost a nordic on my mossberg 930 in the middle of stage a few months back. today i get back from the range and notice no nordic on my 930. WTF? is there some tweak to making these things stay on the gun?? i hate throwing $25 away all the time.

Alaskapopo
Thats weird never had that happen to me. Are you removing them a lot for cleaning? Pat
Clint-M
Sounds rough for sure. I don't know how or if you can tighten retention but I'd look at fluorescent paint if I had lost even one handle. bright orange is a lot easier to notice than black. MarkCO
Something is going on. I don't recall seeing a bolt handle lost over the last 6 or 7 years, but I have now witnessed 5, in major matches, on my squad so far this year. 2 at Midwest and 2 at HPSC last week. Maybe it is that we are doing significiantly more un-loaded starts now, and thus practicing them. I carry a spare now...
Dan Sierpina
Deepen the detent notch in the handle.
michael1778
My Briley bolt handle for my Versa Max came off after the ROs handed me my shotgun after the second stage of the day. I may do like Mark and have a spare in my bag to cover me if that happens again.
outerlimits
i'm thinking a stronger spring and a deeper notch to hold the detent. FWIW, all i shot today were slugs...alot of them.
