e-mishka
Not sure if its right subforum to post, but I want to know if I need to ship my pistol to gunsmith for repairs( gunsmith does have ffl license) does it have to be ffl to ffl, or myself to him directly? CMV
You can ship directly to gunsmith. Though when you ship it, it has to go overnight so it cost more to ship it. FFL to FFL the shipping is less.
e-mishka
what carrier allows shipping firearms?
Sarge
Agreed. I found a local FFL that will ship my gun for $25. He can take it to the Post office and mail it cheap. I'm thinking it's pushing $70 to ship it overnight UPS?
Sarge
what carrier allows shipping firearms? UPS. I have used them. It's pretty easy. I took it in in the box and told them what it was. They may want to look at it but this was not the case for me. I wrapped it up and they scanned it in and I paid and off it went. It does have to go to an FFL though. e-mishka
i wish i could find local ffl to ship for $25. Anyone knows of such ffl in NW Chicago area?
gng4life
You can use FedEx or UPS but do not go to USPS - that's a federal crime. Most dealers will do for a small fee and some do it for free.

I'm thinking it's pushing $70 to ship it overnight UPS? Yep, when I sent my last revo to Carmoney, it cost me $83...but I needed it done quickly so I didn't mind it. Normally, I would go through my FFL and it's only $15. Also, there are only certain offices (FedEx and UPS) that accept firearms for delivery. Make sure to call ahead of time to ensure it is a major location that will ship it.
