Do you use anything between 1X and MAX?

I use all or nothing. Never used any in between settings. Start out at 1x or hit the cat tail to 4x.

leave mine @ 6.5x and run irons for everything else... I'm way quicker with the irons than the scope when targets are close

I used 2X a few time at Rockcastle last weekend. It didn't however keep me from sucking

I've been using a 1-4x and would usually run at 2x if the targets were 25yds or more (our local matches use the 1/2 size IPSC targets for rifle targets). But for the last few months I've been shooting all close up targets at 2x in preparation for a new scope. Just got a 2-7x.

I'm glad I read this thread. I've been doing all or nothing with my TAC30s and can't recall trying anything else. Mostly we have either CQB hosers or 100-500. I will try 2x or so on the next reduced-target hoser.

I used 2x on Sunday on some reduced size IPSC paper targets at about 25 yards, 2.5x on some other paper targets at about 50 yards, and about 3x on some 6" plates at 75 yards.
