  1. if people keep buying at these outrageous prices, then the price will not go down...supply and demand

  3. yes. Sig Sauer replaced his barrel with a new one after he sent it to them.
  4. you can ream the barrel for deeper chamber so that the case is fully supported
  5. i got a STI 9mm 1911 spartan that didn’t give me any problems, non-ramped barrel.
  6. as much as possible, wear double ear protection, you’ll be thankful when you get older....notice all the older shooters say “huh?!” a lot? LOL
  7. shoot whatever you like...shooting guys don’t really mind/care what you are shooting as long as you are cool, and safe. most of all, have fun!
  8. 7.5 grns ram shot silhouette... 124 grs Montana gold or blue bullet...1.155-1.165" oal
  9. Use RN profile bullets, semi-auto likes round nose bullets from my experiences...and check your bullet over all length. could be your magazine too.
  10. Get a used gun (not abused, but realiable)...see if any local fellow shooters will let you borrow and try their limited guns, and see if you like a particular gun, setup, etc.
  11. Maybe you are prepping your trigger (like on a 2-stage trigger system)?.....and yup, dry fire, and learn how your trigger behaves and trigger control. As you may already know, the lighter the trigger, the more sensitive it is.
  12. In Hawaii, we have 10rd pistol mag max limit. We shoot divisions with 10rds mags, no choice....we are getting good with mag changes?
  13. You could probably lower your load to 3.0grs TG with that OAL and still be way over minor. I use 1.145-1.150 oal n still makes 131PF
  14. If you are comfortable putting your thumb over the safety, then it will solve that problem (guys with bigger hands, long thumb can do that, I can't). I had to modify/change my safety with a thinner one (don't like the really wide ones) so that my thumb wouldn't bump it, and it works for me. I also use heavier bullets (180, 200grs) because I find that the 155grs and below are a lot snappier due to more powder. The grip on the 2011s are a little big for people with smaller hands, so need to grip it good n tight. Cheers!
  15. I shoot blue bullets in 9mm and 40 cal and find them not as accurate, but good enough for USPSA....shooting bullseye is a different though
  16. Maybe try shoot an SVI and STI first(borrowing friends’ one) in an actual local match first before you commit to buy, and see if you like it.
  17. There are also members who are n between...novice and expert?
  18. maybe, Tighten the "nut" behind the gun?LOL..just kidding..... Could be eyesight due to lighting conditions? zeroing sitting down vs standing? I noticed a shift on point of impact when I zero sitting down, then standing up. Other variables, grip, trigger control, handgun technique inconsistency, fatigue, etc
  19. we still have a couple of our guys shooting .45 cal 1911s in the single stack division. Most now are shooting 9mm 1911 single stacks due to lack of recoil and faster follow up shots.
  20. no problem..enjoy the sport! cheers!
  21. Ruger Mark X (I,II,III,IV) pistols are great, they are reliable and lots of available after market parts...my kids and I love them.
