You want to make contact with guys in your local area, and see if they'll let you borrow their extra gun - doubt anyone will rent it to you. And there's the liability issue, esp. with the ammo - I wouldn't let you use my gun with Your reloads. It can get tricky - probably have to find someone to loan you his gun and use His ammo. You know there are alternatives to 5000 dollar 2011 custom guns. Sell your L10 gun and buy a used Springfield p9 or Tanfoglio. It might be cheaper than you think.
