Good info to have. But your loads for minor and major just make pf. The slightest change in environmental factors could put you below pf. So what temp did you record this at, and what was your elevation or location?

My recommendation is to shoot 10 shots over the chrono and all 10 must make PF. Just Chronoed at the Arkansas sectional with a new Briley barrel that I did not have a chance to chrono so I used the same load I used with my STI barrel that the Briley replaced due to the STI barrel cracking the bottom lugs I got the gun back the day before leaving for the match so I did not have time to chrono + make ammo so I went with it and was sweating the chrono stage came out to 167pf 3 round average :surprise: I have now bumped it up .2 of a grain you will not notice the difference anyway.

My load data:

4.8gr TG 180 MGB JHP 1.220 oal = 167PF

5.0 gr TG 180 MGB JHP 1.220 oal = don't know yet

I'd probably load the Minor round a bit hotter if only to get the variance tighter.

But, running Minor at 135-140pf is my comfort zone. Still soft, yet runs the gun well and takes down steel better. With TG and 180's...usually pretty accurate too.

Thanks for posting your data. Is that out of an STI?

Are you shooting under IPSC or USPSA rules? If under IPSC then both of those are minor. Under IPSC it takes at least 170 PF for major in Standard or Modified (160 PF in Open).

For IPSC loads (I have a friend or two that shoot in Canada). We came up with 5.4 gr. Titgroup over a MG 180 CMJ at 1.23 inch. it makes about 175 PF in our Sighttrackers.

I will try to make this load the next week but on standard the minimum power factor for major is 170.

Like Flexmoney I run 137 PF for minor.

For major 4.3gr/TG gave me a PF of 175 and 4.6gr/TG gave a PF of 177.

Seems kinda high PF for only 4.3gr of TG. How short was the oal?

All of my loads are at 1.250" OAL.

I just checked my sheet again and it should read PF = 152 and NOT 175. The 175 was for the .40S&W with a 180gr CMJ.

What OAL length? This is critical. 2011 guns need somewhere around 1.2", other guns use similar to factory ammo, 1.12"

If I'm using TC bullets then the OAL = 1.130".

If I'm using RNFP (Frontier) then the OAL = 1.105".

The die is set for the TC bullet and the OAL for the RNFP shorter.
