mioduz
I can not find any data on maximum loads for IMR 7625 in a 38 Super. I will be shooting 125Gr Zero JHP. I just loaded 10 of each for chrono and test how it feels. 6.5gr, 7.0gr, and 7.5gr. any info would be appreciated
Too_Slow
Please remember that except for certain powders made by VV everything we do to make major in open with 38 Super is well beyond book load maximum. That being said the 7.5 gr. load should make major for you if it is a full sized gun, the other two should both be minor. For each of us MAX is determined by the pressure signs that we see in 'OUR' brass after firing. So please work up your loads slowly. Brian
Foxbat
You don't say anything about your gun, which is important. In my shorty with two holes, I was getting PF of 169 with 7.4 grains of 7625.

It is a full length (5") sti "competitor" It has 7 ports on the comp that looks like an egw. KKM .355 barrel For future reference if anyone else is looking to build a load out of something similar 7.4 gr 7625 with 125gr Zero JHP avg 171 PF
gng4life
Tell us how you like the 7625 since I'm looking at trying it along with HS-6 in 9Major. Thanks for any chrono data also...
Too_Slow
I dont think that you can make major in 9mm with 7625 (not enough room in the case), the HS6 works fine it is much denser. Brian

Mat Price
I make 169 pf with 7 grn imr 7625 @ 1.165 out of and old as dirt 9mm Sti competitor. It is a compressed load. It is not as flat as hs-6 out of this gun but its not bad for muzzle flip and felt recoil. most everyone I know running .38 super out of a trubor is running around 7.5 grains. Start @ 7 grains edited for wrong .38 super oal I had 9mm OAL on the brain. Edited May 4, 2011 by Mat Price
