Jesse Tischauser
I shot that Tiger Valley Team Sniper Match earlier this year and I was the only guy in jeans and the only guy without a drop leg holster. Nobody wanted to admit that it was a competition and not training for for the day martial law is declared. To each his own I guess but it cracks me up when people role play with their guns and gear. You must get a helluva kick outta SASS then! I thought those guys were real cowboys. Are you telling me they're not? Ughh! What next? No Santa Clause? Actually the SASS scene is just grown men being boys. The pediatrician and/or plumber that gets dressed up like Rambo to shoot a match and pretend it's training for the apocolypse cracks me up. The cowboys are just goofing around. It's a lot of fun to shoot with these guys. They don't know whatnot think when you beat them with no VFG or laser/light combo. Back to the magpul videos they go. I think another match at Rockcastle in August would be great. Anything we can do to promote 3 Gun would be great. I think it would be great if they held a carbine course, long range precision shooting course, and 3 day cowboy action shooting event there as well. BTW, If anyone needs a bayonet and red hand band, I'll bring extra. Speaking of Rambo, is it wrong that I REALLY wanted to pick up the M249 SAW at FB3G and shoot it from my hip like Rambo did. Come on.........tell me I'm not the only one who wanted to do this. I noticed the bipod was ziptied to a board on the ground to keep anyone from doing this. I've never shot long range before, so I think it would be great to take a weekend course to go over some of the basics so I could learn and try an event like this next year. I already make a big enough fool of myself showing up for 3 gun matches without any formal training

Thanks for the clarification! I had only shot a handgun and .22 rifle when I saw Rambo (it's been a while). In retrospect, the vigorous shaking of his bicep and forearm is better explained by it being an M60. I'll have to watch Rambo again to get myself prepared for the ARFCOM match. BTW, I hope your ankle is doing better. I don't believe we've ever met, but I heard a lot of people asking about you at FB3G match.
benelli2
IMHO my .02 I have gone back and watched video of me in my early competition days and know that I have no room to speak of anyone else who is working on their training or getting into competition, I can eat a ham sandwich between the time I get into a shooting box and get the first shot off, it kills me, I sit and shout at the video "pull the trigger, come on, do it it isn't that hard, pull the trigger, NOW, do it already!!. So I certainly agree with whomever posted about openning our sport and greeting new shooters to it needs to be the best experience ever, weather from SASS, AR15, LE or Womens Baptist Anti- Terrorist League. We have a gathering of the best people in the world in our sport and we need to show it every chance we get, and not sure some of the comments here reflect that, may consider that edit feature, or not. As they say "honesty is only possible with timing and tact" otherwise it don't fly so well at all times. I am certainly as opinionated as anyone out there but I typically prefer and try to be specific and not generalize or stereotype entire groups ok back to work, have a fantastic Christmas season and we will see you all next year jc
