smart phone troubles?

I've been exchanging emails with Chris Keen...because he can't use his Android phone to exchange PM's here on the forum.

I recent got a "smart phone" (HTC EVO, Sprint, Android 2.2). Mine works the forum fine.

I think Chris is running and HTC phone with Android 2.1.

This...from the other (closed) thread):

Brian,

Thanks for working so hard on the forum to fix and improve it.

The full version now works on my iPhone without changing of my phone settings.

I do think that the 'mobile version' of the web page looks good, and is pretty easy to navigate

without having to zoom in/out, and deal with all the full-version overhead.

Here's where your recent changes do provide a 'full version' link:

The screen shots in the pics (above) are what I see on my phone.

There was also a new surprise at the top of the screen! Cool!

It leads to a bunch of options that we're all used to on the full

web page! Most of them work great! I can even get to my messages.

However, when I try to use the 'New Content' feature, it shows no new posts.

When I use the 'full version' on the iphone and PC, I always see new content.

My favorite feature on the forums is 'new content. Can you (or anyone) give

any advice or changes that will enable this last great feature on the mobile

version of the web page?

Thanks!!

EDIT: Think I found it! Your Options> Settings> General Settings> Search Settings = Show me all content that I have not read.

Flex,

Your battery is down to 26%!!!

Better plug that thing in to some sort of power supply for a charging.

Not my battery. That is a copy form another thread...where he gets the same screen look and functionality as I do (on his I-phone vs my HTC EVO Android phone).

Try upgrading the firmware to 2.2, just check for updates from the phone and download.

I think Chris said he was stuck at Android 2.1 on his phone/service ???

When I get home I'll try it on my gf's phone (I don't think she is at 2.2).

Have you tried killing the browser and restarting it? I haven't found a way to go from full version to mobile other than killing the browser once you hit the full version link.

get the TapaTalk app Brian set this up as a member of that you will get full functionality including pm's and it works on any version of andriod.

Or get a better browser I went from the stock "browser" to opera mobile which I still like but mostly use Dolphin these days.

The stock browser wont let me pm or use quick reply. and opera mini doesnt function as well as opera mobile on forums

While your at it the range log app should be out now too I got to beta test it and its awsome! use it a lot

I have a droid 2 and can toggle between full version and mobile. At the bottom of page is box tp choose which one you want

I am using a Droid 1 at the moment. I was viewing the mobile version and tried toggling to the full version. It worked, but I can't find my way back to the mobile version. How do I toggle back to mobile?

Found it. All fixed.
