Pro2AInPA
I'm looking at a used open gun, and it has a C-More mount that I don't recognize. Can some of you open experts look a this picture and tell me if this gun can have one of the Cheely or Quinn sideways mounts installed?
Glk21C
probably can, although you'll need a smith to mill holes for the mount, thread them and install.
titandriver
Looks like a Red Buff mount.

Kagemusha
Gans guns is in PA. From the website, $60 to do the mount: http://gansguns.com/PriceList.html (item 28). Gary does good work.

sgtis108
You can certainly use one of those side mounts. I drilled and tapped myself. Not a big job.
lcs
IF the spacing and size of the two holes match EXACLTY the size and spacing of a Quinn/Cheely then your looking at a half hour labor more or less for a smith to drill/tap the remaining holes. If the two current holes don't match---then more trouble then it's worth.
Adam B
if the holes dont match you can have egw weld them up, they do nice work
Matt Cheely
I'll drill and tap for free if you buy a mount from me.

lcs
if the holes dont match you can have egw weld them up, they do nice work Yep, but then you add in overnight shipping both ways and the cost of welding. If you got the gun for REALLY cheap, then it might be worth it.
scooterj
You may need to have a plunger tube installed too. The Red Buff mounts had the plunger tubes built into the mount.
BigTinVA
That gun is also missing the grip screws at the front of the trigger guard. It also looks like the existing mount uses another tapped hole behind the grip by the thumb safety. Neither should be a big deal though.
BBoyle
The mount is a Hiett Technology Red Buff mount. I still have one on my Open Gun. There is nothing wrong with the mount itself and with practice you can rack it and go right into your grip pretty quickly. It will not be as fast as using a racker though but the difference is probably 1-2 tenths. By the looks of it that looks like it might be an EGW built gun and if it is it is worth every penny. If it was unmolested by the original owner it should run well and any jams would probably be ammo related. Brian

I know the 1911 frame mounts replaced the plunger tube but my sti/sv mount still has the stock tube behind it.

There were old caspians that had a bolted on plunger tube from the factory I believe.
CocoBolo
That don't look like a 9 major gun. This 38 Super has a good mount. http://www.brianenos.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=114440&st=0 Appears to still be for sale.
