blueeyephil
Hello everyone. I've spent several hours reading posts and gotten a lot of good info already. Shot my first USPSA match in a couple of weeks ago. It was blazing hot > 100 but sadly I wasn't. Learned some and had a great time though. I shot L-10 because I have a SIG P-226 in 40 S&W. Everyone in the squad I was shooting with were shooting 9mm/Production. I've thought about doing this for years but was always waiting for my buddies to get in with me. I gave up, looks like I'll have some new buds to shoot with before long. One of the local clubs (Twin Lakes Gun Club, not a member yet) also does IDPA. I think I'll give that a try too. I've been reloading for a number of years, single stage RCBS, but not shooting all that much. With shooting more, I'll probably go to a progressive soon. So I have a couple of questions? 1) Stay with 40 Major and L-10 2) Do Minor 40 and shoot production 3) If I want to do both IDPA & USPSA - go to a 9mm Production (brass and bullets are a little cheaper, or an excuse for a new gun) Either way, I'm going to have fun. Anyway, I'm like a sponge, just soaking it all up. Edited August 19, 2010 by blueeyephil
pivoproseem
I started out shooting IDPA, then Production USPSA, and found that Limited was more fun..even shooting minor, just because I could concentrate more on shooting and less on having to worry about mag changes all the time. Joe4d
Arkansas ? I dont think we have a cap and ball division,,, your gun will probably be more competitive shooting production .40 minor, since you can reload. No reason for a 9mm
GrumpyOne
I would say production minor with the 40. BTW, it's a division, not a class....
