Someone Every year has started a rumor that the Texas State Limited is full. It has not sold out for the last 5 years that i can remember ( could be wrong) This is the First year to be a 2 day Match August 18-19th, good warm up for the nationals in Tulsa.

Yes it was a Hex of a weekend, Funny Thng I was telling the Guys riding with Me on Thursday I had a bad feeling about going out there. Was talking about taking the battery out of the truck so it would not get stolen like David Long's from Prescison Bullets Did a Few years ago. Found out that if you discount the battery on the new Chevy's it KILLS the radio and you have to go to the dealer to get a code put in through the on board computer to get it to work again. Of Course the guys thought i was Nuts about thinking about taking out the battery. Now I have an Alarm on it with a shock sensor that set off the alarm for 20 seconds. Like I said Im going on the premise they did not realize, But most likely they were in a hurry to get out of there. Yes! Alamo You ARE FUNNY! thanks

Thank you for all the Support on this Page! I don't Think the Guy was a drug dealer, I kept Watching My NEW truck from the window of the second floor and saw him later in a Bright Blue Jump suit in the parking lot that others around the hotel were also dressed in. I belive he was with some Crane and Rigging Company that was at the Hotel. He ended up leaving in a Blazer about 30-40 minutes later looked like he and several others were going to work. Yes, I would have liked to see his face when he saw the gun but I think this guy probally would have rushed me. He was totaly off the wire. It all worked out. BUT Dave R. Said it all... does help the impotence you feel for a while by doing the right thing. I REALLY WANTED TO KEY THAT BLAZER the day we left . But again Did the Right thing and Went on my merry way with out any Revenge, not stooping to his degree. Holding on to my firm belife.... THAT WHAT GOES AROUND, COMES AROUND!

This Last weekend at the hotel we were staying at to attened the area 4 Match. I had Parked My truck in front of our second story Room When I got out of the Truck and got my gear out of the Back. THis Complete Moron comes out of the First floor Room and Tells me I need to Move my truck NOW! He was VERY angry. I said Iam Going to put my stuff up and I be down to move it. He Started Yelling and Cussing and Told me "Move it Right F--k now and just say something to me, go on say something". My first thought was to step back and pull out my pistol and ask him "now what was it you wanted to yell at me about" But I did the right thing and just got in my truck and parked else Where. But i had a hard time letting go of it. Did i mention he was twice my size and half my age.

My 5 day old truck has a nice dent in the driver side, thanks to some person at Area 4 in a small silver car the car was parked next to mine at the road, near (about 4 or 5 cars down) from the large Covered area on the right side as you are looking at the covered area on Sunday of the awards/ prize table. Looks like some one was not paying attention to thier door when it swang wide open I got a dent and some nice paint markes on my NEW white chevy truck. I gave them plenty of room to get in and out ( I did not have any trouble not denting their car). I am going on the premise that this guy/gal did not KNOW he did it and drove away with out telling me, to keep my faith in the high quality people I meet at these matches and its not a little door dink dent, Thanks alot! If anyone knows who this silver car belongs to please forward, not that I think I can get anything done about it now. Did i Mention the truck was 5 days old, less than 500 miles. and if you are the guy that did it and are reading this stand up and do the right thing and let me know.

in texas the sticker are inside the car on the winshield. Because of the same thing used to be on the licence plates

I have been to matches with close to 350 shooters that are well run and there was not 1.5 hour wait between stages, may be 20 min to none, then I have been to match that were not run well and have waited an hour or more between stages IE: area 2 -2006 XD thanks for the Break down its seems to be a bad schedule thing. I also heard that there is no prize "TABLE" you get in line in order of finish try to figure out who Joe blow is who finished ahead of you and get in a line and they hand you something through the window and you go on your marry way. is this how they do it?

I design a stage where you had to stand on the edge of a 2 x6 with your arms wrapped around the Small Telephone pole with hands on the other elbow and draw and shoot from there at two array's of steel and targets spread around the bay. Only one way to shoot it right?... WRONG, saw at least six different ways to shoot the stage. The Shooters where very creative. it was great!

At the Double Tap Champ in 05 they had swinging 3/8 steel IPSC target size plates with 3/4 inch Plywood bolted over the steel and IPSC cardboard target stapled on the plywood for a truly inpentrable target and had no splater back when hit even with 38 super rounds. But you where at least 7 yards back. it seemed to work real well. edge hits might be a problem with steel. rounds going in directions you did not intend

Whats the Deal with the Long Wait times between stages? I heard that it up to two hours, is that true? and Why the Awards so Late? At night

I heard from one of the vendors that attened, only 124 shooter showed up

EZ win score you have to go back and Modify the stage discription to have no penality mikes. I give them ALL the MIKES or ALL the PROCEDURALS for not shooting the Correct amount. After the match, No way to Have them reshoot it, I'd throw out the stage. score everyone on the remaining stages. It is an advantage, big time, not to get the Mikes much less faster time on top of it. seen this a million times, it was follow the leader. he shot two so that must be the way to do it.

any results posted for Friday Yet. Anyone Know. How many shooters did they end up with?

L-10 Would e great if it was for the S_I running loaded down 10 round fat mags. Average Guy Just Can not reload as fast with a single stack 10 as a wide body. Average of three Reloads per Stage can make the DIfference Over the COurse of 10-12 stages. Get the Race guns out of L-10 and it is a great divison. just MHO

Yes I have. Barry is a climb. Humid as h_ll also. If I had to Chose it probaly be AZ but I don't care for either.THe range in Virgina the nationals were held at a few years ago was layed out very nice.

The Double Tap Ranch in Wichita Falls, Texas. 14 Bays, Tables to put your gear on. All the Bays are across from each other (East and West) so you can Put your gear at one spot and shoot 2 to 4 stages and not have move your gear. Makes the Match flow real well. Pernament Shade at Every Bay, Great Layout, Great stages, it ROCKS!

Welding Goggles at out door ranges is not so bad. Eyes adjust pretty quickly. Your side to side and edge vision is cut dramatically like wearing blinders. I went to a major match last year that had ports that moved like a swinger and all the targets very fixed. at the Double Tap Championship in Wichita Falls Texas

Range is a Little Spread Out for Me. Nice they let you drive to the far out bays (stg5, stg6, stg7) being they where about 400yds back from the front. But driving stirred up alot of desert dust. weather was nice.

not saying there was no place to reload, just more of it beacuse of the arrays. I agree you accept the challenge when you sign up for that divison. hats off to you, you're a brave soul. The stages where setup great. really nice props, well painted, lots of effort on this part. Prize table was intresting. Quite a few inexpensive 22 rim fire guns on the table.

You need to get out more, come next yeat. Last year was tough. This year it was down to nice and interesting. Hurt the production and SS divisions? Only if a production or SS shooter can't do a decent reload on demand. I did notice that the Revolver Division was the only division where no shooter zeroed stage 3. Those guys must practice. It was an interesting match but it was not memory intensive, at least by Rio standards. I shoot every weekend somewhere and alot of area matches over 8 years, this was still the hardest overall. Compared to what i heard last about last year, i will agree easier but not nice. Master class shooters with an open gun had lots of mikes and slow times, at least on my squad . Match was geared more toward master/ Open in MHO. About prod. & SS, 6 shots and you still have two to four rounds in a mag with nothing to do with them but drop them on the ground most of the time, where some exceptions. Nice for limited and open at 18-24rnds. You had to remember where those Hidden targets where while shooting. Part of a plan I guess, but we all Know how that goes south when the buzzer goes off. Probaly won't come next year, Match did not live up to the hype for me. Will attened TWO other area Match for just about the same Fee as this one.

No I Did not shoot it last year. I heard from Friends it was a Real Bear last year. This year with the stage designers hiding targets behind berms of other targets. you had to REMEBER where all the targets where. Several stages there where targets out of view you had to hunt. kinda felt like they were out to get me with FTE's

the Hardest Match I ever shot. Geared More to MASTER CLASS and Open Divison. The six shot target arrays thru out the match for Revolver, Really hurt the production and single stack divisons.
