  1. Don, I sent you a PM. I have contacted Brian E. to be recognized as a Business Member so I don't get bumped when I push my products. I do the Saigas and parts seperately from Derek, but I use the MCG logo (at this time). Regards, Jack Travers
  2. Taisto, Do you want two extended mag releases for your Saigas? I can send them to Kurt and I am sure he won't mind bringing them over if you buy him a couple of rounds. Here is a picture of one with the other parts I make. This is a drop in part, just use your old spring and pin. Let me know. Regards, Jack
  3. Noah, Yes, it changes the way they load. The typical AK 47 receiver without a magwell will utilize what is known as the "Rock N Lock" means of loading the magzine into the receiver. With the magwell, you just insert the magazine into the magwell and lock it just like a AR-15/M-16. When properly fitted, the magazine will also drop free when the mag release is pushed. Regards, Jack
  4. Ken, Those are Glass Filled Opaque (Limited Run) from AGP. Both the Surefire and the AGPs will work with the MC Magwell, although they are somewhat differenent in outside dimensions and require minor modification. Regards, Jack
  5. Kurt, you got it!! It's the shooter, not the gun. Hell, I build the Saigas but I am a better Tac/Optics shooter than I am an Open Division Shooter. I quit shooting Open Division because I felt 10 round tube loaders hanging off my ass were not "Practical". The Saiga 12 Shotgun perked my interest and it has evolved into a very efficient, fun to shoot shotgun. Regards, Jack
  6. Here is another picture of a Iron Sight/Fiber Optic (Limited/Tactical) Saiga 12 that Millennium Custom makes. Jack
  7. Here is a picture of the Saiga 12 from Millennium Custom. Pretty neat gun. Jack
  8. I am in, if the temperature will be over 50 degrees. I am still down in Florida (81 Degrees) but will head back to Fort Polk in a couple of weeks, come over and shoot the match. Take care and happy hollidays. Jack
  9. You're gettin' old Jack, can't hump your gear anymore? You looked to be in pretty good shape when I saw you in Shreveport.......... No David, getting smarter with age!! (I think?)
  10. Does anyone have an extra 3-Gun cart ,Rugged Gear or similar, (No Wagons) they would be willing to sell at the match? Tired of lugging the equipment arround and I will not be able to get one delivered in time for the match. At least the rifle is sighted/verified POA/POI out to 300 this time. Please let me know off line if you do and we can make arrangements for transfer. Thanks, Jack T 561-317-9096
  11. Shooters, We will have our pre-game warm up for Area 6, 3 Gun Championship on 2 November 2008 at the Fort Polk/Leesville, LA Range. We are switching from Saturday and going to a later start time on Sunday since the weather is great and this will facilitate hangovers, deer hunters, and Church goers alike. Registration at 1000 and first shot at 1100. All shooters $10.00. Scoring will be Comstock (USPSA) Set up will be completed by Saturday and tear down will be done later in the week. Location: Do a google search for; 2110 University Pkwy, Leesville, LA 71446, just follow the road back. We will shoot the following stages (Six): SHOTGUN: Fist Full of Shells and Break Left (Total of 8 slugs and 28 shot) PISTOL: Back Alley and Close Quarter Standards (Total of 55 Rounds) RIFLE: Rifle Standards and we will do a run "n" gun on the Pistol "Back Alley" (Total of 51 rounds) NOTE: This is not a Multigun Match, it will consist of one gun per stage. Handgun only shooters will have four (4) stages. Fist Full of Shells, Back Alley, Close Quarter Standards, and Break Left (Minus clays) for a round count of about 100. Any questions, please feel free to contact me by phone or email. Regards, Jack Travers 561-317-9096
  12. Are there going to be any Target Vendors at the match? If so, who might they be, as I need targets for the local club and would rather pick them up there than pay for the shipping cost. Regards, Jack
  13. Finally sat down and read the back posts. Wow, possible paper out to 600 yards. Guess I need to stop my bitching and get to work. I just turned 55, do men start producing estrogen when we get older? Seriously, my knowledge is non-existent on good optics for this type of match. I love run and gun, in your face, hoser matches. Oh well, now I am open for suggestions: Open Division: What would be a good optic for this match? I will go back to the dot on the Float Tube for the close stuff. Should this be a seperate thread or is this thread OK? Regards, Jack T.
  14. Linda, Do you know which Sponsors/Slots have been approved yet?
  15. Scout454, I use both Sierra and the Barnes Balastic 2.02. The Barnes is dead on. I have always used a 225 yard zero because it gave me a decent Maximum Point Blank Range with the 2 MOA Dot for the loads I am using, but I got with Kirk and he said go with a 250 yard because I use a 2 MOA dot only. This is perhaps my insanity as there is no vertical/horizontal reference and I am probably canting the rifle. Just now received my a new optic from Docter USA 1.5-6 X 42 Plex Reticle. Probably go back to a red dot on the float tube like I did years ago for the close stuff and run the Docter. I am at Fort Polk now, so I better get out to the 600 yard range and start burning up some ammo! Regards, Jack T.
  16. Thanks, I am aware of all this. I am using new equipment and would really like to know where my point of impact is out to 300 yards plus. Also, the optimum zero for my dot is a 250 yard zero for ranges of 300 plus. Jack
  17. Maybe I am not reading the rules right, but could someone explain to me why there is a 10 SECOND penalty for each miss over 100 yards. Seems like it is backwards. Near misses need to be more heavily penalized. Get a couple of misses over 100 yards and you are pretty much out of the match. Is there going to be a range made available to verify POA/POI out to 300 yards or better? I don't remember the maximum range on the one that was made available last year at Benning. Jack T.
  18. Boy, where is all the controversy? I booted my little New York girlfriend so now I don't have any drama in my life. USPSA Scoring. If you don't think we have a problem with the USPSA scoring of Multigun/3-Gun, just go to Major Match Results, US Multigun Championships and look at the results. Notice how it is all listed under PISTOL FINALS, PISTOL STAGES. Now as my buddy might say, If you are a graduate of the FBI Academy, you might consider this a Clue!!. Nuff Said. Regards, Jack T.
  19. Didn't want to conflict with the Orange, TX match, and but I really wanted to get in a match before Area 6, so we will do it on Sunday. Hope to see you guys if you ain't worn out from Saturday. Bring your "A" game and you can shoot for $10.00 also!! Jack
  20. Alrighty, We will have a 3-Gun Match on Sunday, 2 November 2008 in preparation for the Area 6, 3-Gun Match. The format will be one gun per stage, or what I refer to as a "Gentlemens" 3-Gun Match. Here are the stages I will set up from the Area 6 (5 Stages, plus a run n gun rifle): Shotgun Stages: Break Left and Fistfull of Shells Pistol: Close Quarter Standards and Back Alley Rifle: Rifle Standards and a run n gun probably on the Pistol "Back Alley" As usual, registration starts at 0800, first shot at 0900. I take care of the set up and tear down, so just come on out, shoot and enjoy yourself. Match fee $10.00, from Texas $20.00. Scoring for this match will be Comstock. Any questions, please feel free to contact me. NOTE: We WILL NOT have our usual Multigun/Handgun match on the 4th Saturday due to the AR Multigun and Gator Classic being held on the same weekend. Gator prep match will be on the 18th of Oct. Regards, Jack Travers 561-317-9096 jack@ussteelshoot.com
  21. Thank you Troy!! Good to see we have some reputable (?) people (Troy M., Alan M., and Chris E.) who have influence with the powers that be taking an active interest. Lots of good things about USPSA Multigun, 3-Gun etc., but the few that need fixin have really come to the forefront. Let's get it right. USPSA owes it to the members to put on a Multigun/3-Gun Nationals of the same quality/attention as the Handgun Nationals and nothing less!! Jack T.
  22. I'll be ready. My long range rifle keeps me out of contention, but that KirkM guy gave me some pointers, so I should be more competetive now. Jack T.
