  1. I appologize if it seems like I was taking a jab at anyone, that was not my intention. Didn't have time to read preceeding posts to get a better feel for the thread. It helps me remember why I don't like to post on the forums as intentions are sometimes misunderstood. See ya in three more years:) Jack
  2. Many years ago (over 30/40), bulls eye shooters believed the square firing pin stop aided in maintaining a longer lock up of the barrel/slide, hence more accuracy/tighter groups. It has never been proved or disproved, but there again, it does make it harder to cycle the slide, so it may in fact prolong the lock up. This idea has carried over through the years with some of the guys who are familar with it or have as of late, just heard of it, but probably can't explaine why:) Personally, I see no advantage in our discipline of shooting and I want a nice rounded radius to initiate the recocking of the hammer. Not a square edge. This was back when we were still building 1911s by peening the rails and tightening the slides in the vise:) Jack

  4. This is like taking a step backwards in histroy! Seems people have a need to relearn what has already been tried (and failed). You will still have the same recoil impulse from a firearm with a longer stroke, now you just have a longer cycle/time for that to occur and why would you want that? Just means everyting takes longer, slower/longer cycle time, slower reset/lock up time for the firing train, etc. In our game you want a faster cycling pistol, and the shorter the cycle, the quicker the recoil impulse will occur and you will be ready to break the next shot. Also the rails are shortened on the frame to facilitate the longer stroke/cycle of the slide, now you have more travel with less bearinig surface. Figure it out!! But! Here is my philosophly about new ideas, parts, etc.; If you think it works and makes you a better shooter, then it works for you and the rules of physics be dammed! And on the otherhand, you can sell dog crap to some people, if you market and advertise it correctly:) Jack
  5. The guy I was going to ride with has already bowed out. He doesn't want to drive 8 hours, fuel cost, motel cost, etc., to be miserable. Each to his own:) This is from the NOAA forcast for Sunday, which is very reliable, I wish the high would be in the 50s, but that is not going to happen: A slight chance of freezing drizzle and sleet before 10am, then a slight chance of rain between 10am and noon. Mostly cloudy, with a low of 28 and high near 44. Calm wind becoming southwest around 5 mph. Chance of precipitation is 20%.
  6. Whats the odds of pushing the match back one week? Got a feeling participation is not going to be very good because of the front moving through. Jack
  7. Stainless Safety Wire in diameters of .032 to .041, you will need the tool that properly twists the wire. I use it on the motocross bikes. Check out the tools in Motosport.com. That is where I got mine. Jack
  8. I still have that Florida blood flowing through me and was thinking about bowing out. But, I really need to redeem myself after the dismal performance with the precision rifle last year:) See ya'll there!! Jack
  9. Will slings be required/needed for either rifle?? Thanks, Jack I checked with MD and no slings will be required. Also the stages are up on the website.
  10. Wow, that is one nice facility with lots of potential!! Jack
  11. Yeah, don't want any whining when a barely alive 60 year old guy shooting Open kicks their butts.
  12. Cash pay out?? If you are not in a recognized division, you are not eligible. Always said, "you can't eat a trophy"! Jack
  13. This should be a Level II Match, so we need at least five (5) competitors in Open Division to be recognized as a division for prizes, awards, etc. I will shoot Open Division, irregardless if we meet that criteria or not. I just want to shoot. Missed too many matches this year because of health and surgeries. Jack
  14. Oops! My mistake. I thought it was "Time Plus" scoring, forgot about the Horner Scoring System. Hats off to Dianna! Jack
  15. The Miculeks are awesome!!! But, I'm afraid Diana Liedorff squeaked by with 3 extra points on Kay for Top Open Lady!!!! Both Kay and Dianna are pretty impressive shooters!!! Go Ladies!!! Might want to check that again. Unless the final scores on Practiscore have change, Kay shot 876 and Dianna shot 874. Jack
  16. Congratulations to the Miculek's!!! If I read the scores correctly they all won their divisions!! Jerry: Match Winner, HOA, Open Division Kay: High Lady, Open division Lena: High Lady, Tactical Scoped
  17. It is allowed, we just need to get the people back that switched from Open to Tac Ops. Jack
  18. Anyone else going to shoot Open Division, besides me? Going to be lonely at the top! Jack
  19. Ramshot Silhoutte meters exceptionally well (spherical-shaped) and burns clean. It also performs very well/clean in a 9mm Minor Load for 3 Gun/Production. As mentioned earlier, recoil impulse is the same as HS6, Autocomp, and 3n37, as the burn rates are nearly identical. Jack
  20. I believe Randi Rogers will be the first Female GM (Production). She has all the attributes to make it happen. Jack
  21. Go on USPSA and change your squad assignment. Looks like it all got messed up, but the squading is open again. Check your email and you probably got an email from Bruce, in this regard.
