Cool movie, even cooler soundtrack. Tough movie to stop thinking about. Definitely not your run of the mill, brain dead, over the top explosions and ridiculous car chases, a million bullets fired (but no one actually gets killed) Hollywood action flick. Deserves its 'R' rating though. Mick

If you like Samurai movies, like I do, '13 Assassins' is one of the best I've seen. 13 Samurai make a last stand against the evil brother of the Shogun and 200 of his Samurai bodyguards. It's in subtitles and I had to catch it at an arthouse cinema but it was worth the effort.

Here's a link I was sent with some pics and info on the consultants involved with 'The Town' movie. Hope it works! http://www.wickedlocal.com/marshfield/features/x1129171299/Marshfield-cops-have-roles-in-The-Town?photo=0 Mick

I did some training when I was in the U.S last year and my instructor was attached to Boston S.W.A.T He was hired as a consultant and subsequently got a small role in the movie. He sent me some pics from the set, all kitted up sitting next to Affleck. They invited him to the red carpet premiere at Fenway Park last week. I look forward to seeing it. Mick

Yeah it was the colour scheme that hooked me in the first place. I used to ride past the bike dealer and stare at it on the showroom floor through the window all the time. I used to joke to the salesmen that it was my bike and I was gonna buy it one day and they would always laugh at me. About a year later I took my 'blade in to get something fixed and I ended up riding home with the SP2. I had no idea but my wife had bought the bike about ten months earlier and was slowly paying it off. It seems the entire world new about it except me! It 'was mine' all along. I hope you find those pics I'd like to see them! R1's are nice. Mick -

Finally got my bike back after having crashed it almost 9 months ago! The insurance company 'wrote' it off and it had to go to auction where I got in a bidding war to buy it back. A Honda dealer has been rebuilding it for me and finally it's at a stage where I could go take it over the 'pits' to get it licensed again. There's a few things to do as we're 'still' waiting on some parts to arrive. It's been so long since I've ridden it, that I forgot what a beast it is! Luv it! Mick -

considering getting a dog

Get a Doberman! I'm onto my third one and highly recommend them. They are very security conscious and 'know' when to be mean and when not to. Great with kids also. Mick -

I don't know the guy from a bar of 'soap' and he doesn't seem to post a lot, but I always enjoy reading what he has to say. So I'm voting for 'Vulture'. Mick

Hi Ken I've just organised to have it taken to a Honda dealer for repairs. My concern is availability of parts, as there's not a lot of SP2's around. I'll chase up 'Gazza' if i encounter any problems. Thanks for the lead! Mick -

Ouch! How did you make out? No broken bones! Luckily I landed on my head after I did an impersonation of a rag doll being thrown in the air. After a small stint in the emergency room I'm now bed ridden for a while with massive bruising just above my hip. It took the full impact on the rail! Could've been a lot worse. Wont be shooting for a couple of weeks tho! -

The long ride wont bother me, it'll depend on my flight time outta Springfield down to Florida for more training that will dictate how much time I'll have to play. I'll check it out. Thanks for the tip on the Armory! Cheers! Mick -

Running and facing uprange, pointing downrange
M-TRAIN replied to RegRob's topic in USPSA/IPSC Rules
Shot some Practical Pistol today with two challenging stages requiring running uprange with a loaded gun. There was some 'loose' gun direction with guys using the 'Eric Graufell' method but nothing too serious. But there was a 'pants filling' moment when a guy from the start position turned around immediately after the beep and ran towards the 'Peanut Gallery' with his loaded gun still in his holster and then had to stop, turn and draw to engage some targets. Stumbled across my copy of Beyond Fundamentals last night and quickly flicked through it. I stopped at the section on Shooting Focus and re read all about the different focus types, which is something I'm playing around with at the moment. The only problem is, now I'm going to have to read the entire book again! What else have I forgotten! Thanks Brian! Mick B

Both my Standard (10rd only) Infinity slides are set up to not lock back. When everything is going to plan it's not a problem. But I seem to be experiencing the "dead man's click" more often these days. When I get a chance it's my intention to have them re configured to lock open. Mick B

Training Criteria For Brand New Junior Shooter
M-TRAIN replied to SA Friday's topic in Miscellaneous BEginners
My young daughter didn't shoot for very long, but what I did notice was that she picked up on things very quickly, as girls often do. For her first time, I spent two minutes showing her how to load her .22cal pistol then placed the mag and gun on a table. When told to, she picked the mag and gun up, loaded it and shot the target! I've spent hours teaching grown men to do that! Whens she 's ready get her practicing the same drills as you. Mick B
