  1. If Blue Loctite try acetone first ... if Red .. heat .. ~400 degrees ..... and get new wrenches too!
  2. Not from '83 but from '89 .. Stage winner at the '89 Safari Shoot in Zimbabwe. Need to find something older than that!!
  3. Without any questions Matt Cheely at ccgunworks.com
  4. As a 'good' local I never take the 15 unless I have to . That is a good route ... unless you hit traffic at the Spaghetti Bowl or along the 95 before Summerlin Pkwy, very 'time sensitive' route, but a good one.
  5. 95 does not take you anywhere near close to the range (curves North at Rainbow), traffic lights in Charleston are bad .. very bad
  6. Local's secret .... go South on Paradise to Desert Inn, all the way West on Desert Inn, right into Hualapai, either continue and make a left on Charleston to the range or make a left on Sahara to North on the 215 to Charleston
  7. Oh my, how politically incorrect of me .... I blame it on the heat Thanks for the correction
  8. Yes, seems that all 4 classes are neck to neck ... as it should be!!
  9. Some pictures from today. Stage 1 for Ladies, Revolver and Open super squads http://gallery.me.com/rieraj#100369
  10. Quick update, got a few Gramms 2.5 basepads yesterday ... all good now. Now looking for a few brass basepads, didn't saw any from the vendors at the Nationals.
  11. Some more pictures I took today, not many ... fairly hot plus I had one of my kids with me ... http://gallery.me.com/rieraj#100361 Tomorrow I promise more ... PS. For any of the photographers out there ... look closely at the first picture .. flames!!!
  12. PS ... some of my pictures from today http://gallery.me.com/rieraj/100353
  13. I did spend a few hours this morning following the Open, Limited, Revolver and Ladies super-squads,so far no published scores or anything uncommon. Some more details here http://www.britinusa.net/2011USNationals/2011day1/ So far I have decided that I want to shoot like a girl!! some amazing runs by Kay and Jessie
  14. You can get a bad room in any hotel in Las Vegas ... more so at the Riviera (or at the Circus Circus) .... just saying
  15. Yes, weather should be nice for the next several days. Rain and storms from Friday until Wednesday, record lows and record rain, not sure how the USPSA stage construction crew manage to get it done!
  16. My kid has not got yet into any competition with 'grown ups' we are just practicing for now. He has tried my STI Open but still prefers the G34 minor. A few more practice sessions and we will do some steel competition together He is only 10 but he is already a Distinguish Expert in rifle (bench), working his qualification in 3-positions
  17. I am building a G34 for my 10 years old for IPSC and Steel, he is a 'big guy' for 10 years and so far the grip is OK. It will be compensated and use subsonic ammo for now.
  18. Yes, angles are all over the place. I very much made my mind on Grams +2.5 basepads for the 140's and 170's, I may even send the mags to Grams for the 'mag tune service'. Cannot find the stock STI basepads ..
  19. Thanks all, Nationals in two weeks here in Vegas, I hope some of the vendors will have basepads that work properly for me.
  20. What is the 'recommended' basepad for an Open gun today? Grams, Bolen, Dawson, all of the above?
  21. The mags and the gun are fairly old (a Trip Research circa 1992) but the magazines sizes are 140mm and exactly the same size as the newer ones I have for the STI .45 Magazines without the Dawson basepad lock properly and 'stick out'. Must be the basepads, time for new ones .. I will double check this weekend at the IPSC match. Thanks for the replies
  22. What I am doing wrong? ICE magwell with Dawson basepads on 140mm mags do not work (don't lock) same without the ICE. Is just me or do I need to do something with the basepads ...
