  1. I've been thinking about buying an upper for my AR to deer hunt with and am curious to see what others have used. I've considered the 6.8 SPC, the .243 and the .450 Bushmaster. I'm trying to use a caliber that will go with the lower I already have. About the longest shot that I might have would be around 400 yards which I learned at Ft. Benning I probably wouldn't make. Anyway any info would be appreciated.
  2. Go figure, finding RW in a discussion about strippers!!! What a surprise!!! Gonna have to bump up the ATM allowance.
  3. Roger, Thanks for the info. I knew I could count on you. Let me know how I can help. Also have a Merry Christmas and a safe trip to the Mts. Bryan
  4. Roger, Can some us who can't be there for the entire weekend shoot with the RO's on Friday if this turns out to be a 2 day match? Any thoughts on the entry fee yet? Thanks
  5. Hey Roger, Did you have a chance to look at the 3rd weekend (14,15,16) of March (regular club match date) and talk it over with Woogie. Randal left Benning with the 3rd weekend marked on his calendar. This is the date that he has told several people about. The 4th weekend is Easter so that wouldn't work. Those of us who are going to the Double Tap Ranch match will still be in town and able to shoot this match. It would also be great to have this as a one day match similar to the Georgia State match. These are just my thoughts on this. I know this will be another really fun match regardless. Thanks.
  6. I've been following the interest "explosion" of these 6" guns for quite some time now. I've used the same 5" STI from "C" class up to "M" class with great success. I always kinda viewed this as an "is it the indian or is it the arrow" situation. What exactly are the benefits here (sight radius, recoil, weight, etc.) and what type of gains have you guys noticed while using this setup? Info and pics appreciated.
  7. I just wanted to say thanks again to ALL of the people responsible for putting together and running such a great match. I don't do many 3 gun matches but this is one match that is a must do regardless of the firearm(s) involved. As for the sponsors, what else can you say but thanks for your support. I just received from JP Rifles the items that I won and they are awesome!! I'll definitely support these guys with my next purchase. I hope to see you next year.
  8. I would like to send out a very sincere thanks to everyone involved in making this match as challenging and as fun as it was. It was one of the best matches that I've ever been too. I also met some very interesting people (the Brits, Kurt (there I was all liquored up )... and tiny Tina ). Thanks again and congrats to all of the winners.
  9. If you have squad request shoot me a PM and I will work the squad list as much as possible ahead of time, as for slings, yes you will be able to suffice without one the way the stage is set up. Hopalong, I am hurt you aren't going to come participate, I see how you are, your going to miss some fun

  11. Jeff, I talked with Stefan and I get the impression that we will be able to pick our squads when we get there. Is this so? As for the rifle sling can we work around not using one. There will be a few people coming who have never shot this type of match. Thanks. Bryan
  12. Jeff, have you decided as to how you're going to do the squadding? Just curious because a friend of mine will have to share my equipment.
  13. Wow, this looks like it might be fun and challenging. I can't wait. How will the squadding be set up. I have a friend who will have to borrow my rifle.
