There's no end shake. I did just take the side plate off and it was bone dry. Oiled it. I noticed it has the same mainspring that came in my SSR, the one with the ridge down the middle. I don't have a pull gauge, but it doesn't feel much heavier than my SSR, and it's definitely "Federals only".

Tom, I replaced the rainbow colored grips w/ one piece hogues so there's no side pressure on the mainspring and the strain screw is tight. I don't think there's anything wrong with the gun except the mainspring is just a little light for winchester's. I wasn't really complaining, it has a great trigger. I only use Federals for revolvers anyway. I'm just surprised S&W didn't put a full power mainspring in. Not everyone buys a gun for gun games. Going to Boone? I'm shooting SSR, plan on doing revo the rest of the year.

I just bought a new 625 Performance Center. I didn't have any 45 loaded up at the time w/Federal primers when I took it to the range the first time and had several misfires with Winchester primers. I loaded up some ammo with Federals and it shoots fine. This will be an IDPA ESR gun and I planned to reduce the hammer spring and only shoot Federals in it anyway so it just saved me a little work. I'm just a little surprised S&W shipped it out like this. Comments?
  8. Thanks for the advice. I have a very good Dr. and therapist and I 'll do what they say.
  9. I'm right handed and it was my left shoulder repaired. I'm pretty sure it'll be a while before competing again but I hope to at least be able to do some strong hand shooting when I'm able to rack the slide to load comfortably.
  10. Not sure if this is the right place, but have any of you had rotator cuff surgery? If so, about how long before you could return to shooting? I'm about 6 weeks post surgery.
  11. Most of my "wishes" have all been stated, but I hope those changing the rules will not base their decisions on whether it's like USPSA or any other shooting sport. If it's a good rule, I don't care if it came from USPSA, or even SASS. And no, I have no loyalty to USPSA, I've never shot a match.
  12. Common sense would say no problem because it's not giving you a competitive advantage, only to prevent injury. But by the strictest interpretation of the rules, there are some who would disallow it based on it being an externally visible modification. It's just like if you soften the sharp corners on the extended mag release on a Glock. Nobody's trying to cheat, just trying to avoid bleeding.
  13. Disregard, I just noticed how old this thread was.
  14. Got my 9mm Trojan today. Great service Brazos. Right out of the box, 200 rounds of my IDPA loads with Tripp mags w/ no failures. I did notice it didn't have the long ejector that some have said were breaking with some 9mm mags. Mine came with a short ejector that made no contact with the mags. Very happy with my new ESP gun. Joe
  15. I understand that. I just wish we had just a little bit more cushion so we didn't have to "make" a basically stock gun make weight. Not a big deal. Based on the weights you guys gave me, I should be okay. I may remove the FLGR if mine's close and put the VZ grips on a 45. Joe A23563
  16. If a stock 9mm with no "race" parts won't make weight in ESP, maybe HQ should look at adding an extra ounce to ESP like they did in CDP. Full length guide rods(steel), steel magwells, and G10 or aluminum grips are not "race" parts and shouldn't need to be removed to make weight. Not rule bashing, just a suggestion. Joe
  17. Thanks for the replies. Looks like I'll be good to go for ESP.
  18. It would be great if mine arrived a week early. It's due at Brazos 11-15. Even if it's a little late, Brazos has been great to deal with so far. Mine will be identical to yours blind bat, minus the trigger job.
  19. Larry, was your weight with an empty mag? Joe
  20. Could any one tell me the weight of a 9mm Trojan with a magwell and steel mainspring housing and with the full length guide rod left in? Thanks Joe
  21. Agreed. You can pay more than a Baer costs but in my opinion, you won't get any better. On the other hand, I have a 9mm Trojan on order from Brazos.
  22. Let's hope Ihave the same luck. My Trojan's on order from Brazos and 5 mags are on the way from Tripps.
  23. Duane, while trying to decide what brand mags to order for the 9mm Trojan I have on order, I found an article you wrote on the Springfield/Metalform mags. Are you still sold on these mags? Right now I'm stuck between those and Tripp's. Thanks. Joe
