Looks for Range

Looks for Range (1/11)

  1. I'll wait and see what the new rules bring but looks to me like the 6 shot GP with speedloaders is for IDPA and a shot at DM at the S&W Indoor Nationals, 8 shot 627 for USPSA with stage set-up the way it is.
  2. Then you'll do a reload the 8 shooter shouldn't have to make. 6 major just gets better hit scoring. In my: 8 shooters scored minor with a >120PF 6 & 7 shooters, moonclip fed, scored major with a >160 PF, scored minor with a >120 to 160 PF 6 & 7 shooters, speedloader fed, scored major with a >120 PF which I still think is the way to go, and hope will be considered, your speedloader 6 shooter would get major scoring. Gonna be the "gun of choice"? I doubt it but you'll have a better chance than you do now. Nothings perfect but we have an almost non-existent division. Time to do something. Edit: The MCC recognizes a speedloader "catagory". Anybody have a link to results for that? High speedloader? I checked the USPSA results listing but that doesn't show who shot speedloaders. They do show who shot minor. Roger Davis Was high "minor" at 77.4% and 8th overall. O.K. cool on your list shooting speedloaders at minor and scoring it major I would run speedloader what ever the match set up (8 shot arrays or not), Not going to happen, opens up a big can of worms, minor = major in a division why not production etc, etc.
  3. Tom E With you there but in a match with the now normal 8 shot arrays not so much. Got a 627 yesterday just in case. Also, I shot all my revolver classifiers with 6 shot speedloader gun in minor, what happens to the numbers running an 8 shot if the classifier has 8 shots.
  4. No Classis division would have ment 88 less shooter in the listed matches, while the numbers are low the % on some matches is high. Some state that speedloader is already legal in USPSA but nobody shoots it (or only a few), this is true but look at or for the reason. Revolver shooting is a passion, you have to want to shoot it, it's hard work to get the reloads perfect, figure out stages 6rds at a time (or 8, ha easy) etc, etc, most people want to shoot on the weekend and have fun and to most, revolver is not fun and looks to be much like work. I thought the point of this was "how to get more in the game".
  5. I hope they go 6 shot speedloader and moonclip gun, as stated before people feel behind the curve running speedloader against moonclip, if you have a place to play with like gear (not against) more shooters may get in (may). Skill will sort out 8 shot moon 'V' 6 shot moon. PS I like shooting my speedloader fed Ruger, have 8 speedloaders and holders.
  6. The East Coast Championship is just over a month away, Sept 14th at Caswell Ranch in NC, 12 stages-160rnds, good practice if you are going to the Nationals a week after, we have shooters coming from Ven-PR-Chile-Austria-Costa Rica. App is on line at www.caswellranch.com
  7. All stages must be set up in 6 shot groups, no more revolver problem, no need for new divisions, no advantage for 8 shots. SS and prod would have a few more reloads on some stages, O.K. It's been done before (8 shot groups) for SS.
  8. Joe, your GP is done see you Sunday, you should just sell the 625 to me sounds like a bad one
  9. Just my 2 cents, most people that have 6 shot 38spl speedloader fed guns feel behind the curve when running against a moonclip 625, this is what led to the split in IDPA and would have been fine but for the PF change ( they do not compete against each other so why), if PF had stayed at 125 for both I feel we would have more shooters in revolver (more so in ESR). The same reason that many do not shoot 38spl speedloader fed 686/19/GP etc in USPSA, if the division gave a place to play with both but not against each other it may lead to more shooters (may), PF should be based on what box you check no matter what you shoot, if you shoot SS etc you can shoot MIN/MAJ. If it's moonclip who cares 6 shot-8 shot maj-min both have pros and cons.
  10. ICORE has no major, only a power factor of 120, and limited it basically the same as open without ports or optics. Sorry, PF was in regards to USPSA not ICORE A69116
  11. Classic = 6 shot speedloader, LTD = anything with moonclips, check box maj/min
  12. Do what ICORE did with Classic (6 shot running speedloaders), LTD is anything running moon clips, chrono for major/minor
