Looks for Range

Looks for Range (1/11)

  1. SNS Casting 175 SWC Lead are true old fashion H&G style semi wad cutters, they are accurate and consistant and all I use in all my 40's Single Stack, Para's and STI's they feed well in all and are loaded with about 1mm of the shoulder sticking out above the brass with a taper crimp. 5.0 gr of WST which is a great powder for lead and gets me about 170 power factor.
  2. 4.0 grains of WST 1.185 oal nicest soft shooting major load ever in a 40. and the WST is the best Iv'e found for low smoke w/cast bullets
  3. Nils is looking Good so far Max,Blake,BJ and Manny aren't even close...
  4. S&S Casting cast Bullets all the way, Accurate and the price can't be beat
  5. Had a Great time at the 2011 SSC, Thanks to our GREAT gunsmith Rich at Canyon Creek for fixing Kyle's gun right before the match it ran flawlessly !!! This was Kyle's best showing at the SSC so far(29th Overall) his first year out of being a Junior. He's been shooting the match every year since he was 11 years old he's now 19. Clip @ You Tube
  6. I used to use 220gr west coast bullets 4.1 grs of WST loaded to a lenght of 1.185. these are the softest shooting loads I have ever shot in 40 cal, however the problem with and why I stopped useing them is that the copper plating would shear off and cause the bullets to tumble, needless to say they were not accurate.this seemed to be the same problem with the 200's and 180's from west coast also. If I was going to use 220's again I would use straight lead SNS Casting makes a good 220. but like said in a previous reply i would save em for a gun that you can load the bullets out longer cause thats what needs to be.
  7. 2010 Area 5 had 40 shooters in ss the winner doesn't earn a slot for that ?
  8. hey jim did you know your older then me !!!!

  9. get some S&S cast bullets they are the best!!!!! price and accuracy http://shop.snscasting.com/
  10. The only problem I see is those bullets your using....man......who makes em anyway ?????!!!!!!
  11. 175 gr swc from S&S Casting over 5.0 gr of WST works for us,1.185 oal, mixed brass and any small rifle or small pistol primer. WST is temp sensitive (the hotter the tempeture outside the slower the bullet travels) so make sure you crono with your load at temps above 80 degrees so you know your fps. 80 or lower is pretty consistant but 80 on up it starts running slower. WST is clean burning, best for no smoke with lead and cost is low. S&S cast bullets are about $70.00 a thousand for 175swc's and he has 140gr 180gr and 220gr also...great cast bullets.
  12. Great Match !!! Hats off to all the people who ran it. Like Tony said one of the harder matches i've shot in a long time as you can see by my placing, All I can say is Thank God I have my son to redeem me !!!! Way to go Kyle !!! And a big Thanks to our sponser---Canyon Creek...Thanks Rich .
