  1. Damn. True grit match for sure. Thanks for the report and the video SinistralRifleman We had a great time last year. TJ puts together great matches. Hope to be back next year.
  2. In my 18 inch barrel, the greater velocity I get from the 69's outperforms (less windage) the slightly better bc on the 77's.... and the 69's shoot flatter also. The 77's take over at about 600 yards if I recall correctly. YMMV. Good luck
  3. Lots of good advice here. I have always wondered how the 110 gr vmax would work as a three gun load in Heavy Metal. I have read of a number of people that get excellent accuracy out of 1-10 to 1-12 barrels and I wouod think the recoil would be greatly reduced compared to 155-175 bullets. Maybe not a good load at long range, but worth an experiment.
  4. Well, I guess you and me have an M3 and that is it 1. You don't to my knowledge. The only way to get the tube off is to unsrew it from the receiver. It is on there semi-permanently with glue and stuff, so this is not advised unless you really really need to. I just double checked my manual, and they do not even cover the tube....not even in Italian. 2. I gots no idea, but if you find out anything please let me know. I am really contemplating hunting down an old M1 just so I can have an 8 round tube. 3. My screws have never come loose
  5. Pardon the newbie (or is it newby) question, but are squad lists posted ahead of the match, and if so about when. Just curious. Really really really looking forward to this.
  6. Ummmmm the Wallly World 100 round value pack is what I shoot in mine all the time. How many rounds through yours?
  7. Thanks for all the replies (sarcastic and otherwise) I knew in posing the question that way it was bound to draw a arespons...anyway. If the scope was 1 to 10x and had a daylight visable dot in the center I would say they had it, but not quite. I have a Meopta and it is good for 90%+ of three gunning, but I am thinking about some of the matches like Rocky Mountain where the ranges stretch a bit. May be nice to have 10x on the scope and the reticle should be the heat for the long stuff. So, Meopta for closer, and NF for farther? Comments, criticism, suggestions? Thanks to all.
  8. http://www.nightforceoptics.com/SCOPES_OVE...-10x32nxs_.html Click on the highlighted thing for Velocity Reticle. Curious what yall think. Looks pretty snazy. Probably would still need some outboard irons for very close.
  9. Barney, go here....read.....sign up.....come play! http://www.snipershide.com/forum/ubbthread...1202&page=1
  10. The exact same thing happens to me, but only with my 45 ACP die....standing by for some good input!
  11. Amen to both brother. Dragon (a/k/a Japanese Tourist) did a great job with two video cameras, a still camera and yelling encouragement in between.....with minimal wheezing recorded on the sound track
  12. To answer my question ..... 69 smk 25.4 Gr TAC 2880 fps 77 smk 24 gr TAC 2660 fps both out of an 18 inch JP barrel....LC '05 brass once fired, and wolf small rifle magnum primers. Cheers!
  13. LOL that was the NORTH Louisiana crew....they will be strongly encouraged to attend.
  14. My research (on here) shows a lot of folks liking Ramshot TAC for 69's and heaveir....I'll know next weekend.
  15. Thanks folks. Good grief Kgunz, what is that load?
  16. I appreciate that, but am aware. I am looking for specific experiences with TAC until such time as I can get to the range and find out LOL At the end of the process, I need an accurate load out to 500 yards.... I "think" the better bc of the 77 and the faster velocity of the 69 will be a wash on windage, but need some estimates to play with the numbers. Thanks and keep um coming.
  17. I see plenty of threads listing loads, but nobody ever says what velocities they get. If you load TAC under either a 69 or 77 SMK, please let me know what kind of velocity you are getting, and please share the length and make of your barrel. Thanks!
  18. The size of the squads WAS balanced the day before the match, on paper. We had a significant number of "no shows" (nearly 20) and unfortunately, they did not drop out evenly between squads. Some squads remained full at 13 to 12 shooters and some squads dropped to 8 shooters when 4 shooters did not arrive and did not send notice. Some shooters who were forced to cancel did send notice (late the night before, when it was too late to change anything). There was bad weather and unexpected winter storms that canceled or disrupted air travel in parts of the US. Since the squads were posted on the internet in advance, it was next to impossible to adjust squad size at 8:00 AM on Saturday. Linda Chico (L-2035) 2009 LaRue Tactical Multigun Statistician Linda, thanks for the explanation. What my comment was based on was the hearsay that there was a squad ahead of us with 16 shooters. From what I am reading today, they may have had some WW's added in -- If I had known that I would have gone down to help tape and carry their kit for them. Glad to get behind those guys anytime! Once again my compliments on the statistician work -- simply amazing! Great Match!
  19. Great match! Thanks to Larue and the other match sponsors, and especially all the hard work of the match organizers and RO's who had a rather challenging week getting the match ready Congrats to the winners and top finishers -- it is always amazing to me to see what can be done with a little raw tallent and a ton of practice. Outstanding finish Mr. Horner. Pros: Great stages Nice mix of close and far rifle targets and slugs and shot, and handgun thrown in. Also good mix of "problems" that remind us of the stuff that we hate to practice, but should do anyway LOL. Doing the long range off a roof and a moving helecopter was evil and I loved it! Food was awesome -- and having it available whenever you had time is the way to do it.... how many matches have you gone to with a designated lunch time that only results in everyone getting in line for an hour. Score keeping - Linda is nothing short of a miracle worker....I have never seen her in action and it was amazing. From last shot to prize table could not have been 15 minutes. Mini-gun ---thanks! Prize table -- simply unbelievable. Your right Greg, we would go without it, but it sure was nice. I finished on the second page and came home with a gun. Cons -- First I say again, great match and my two bits here are meant as constructive criticism because I hope you have this match every year from now on and I can get in. The 180 -- it is a sacrosanct rule in other shooting competitions for a damn good reason. At the end of the day, this is a competition, and if somebody gets shot, that ends the fun real fast. If the desire is not to ding newbies with a DQ, I get it, and I applaud the desire to encourage new entrants in the shooting sports. But I respectfully suggest that RO's at least be instructed to scream and holler if the 180 is broken to keep things safe. Quite the opposite, many specifically told competitiors they " did not care about the 180" ..... I do. Time -- some down time was had, but not really too bad IMHO, but some of this probably could have been avoided by balancing out the size of some of the squads. Clays -- is it broken "enough"? Gets very darn subjective as to whether a shooter has to do a dry reload into the shotgun and then re-engage the targets becuase the clay was not busted "enough". Suggested to dump this rule....if the RO thinks the clay was hit, call it a hit and move on. That was all the grips, and I say again, GREAT MATCH. THANKS!
  20. 1.4 Rifles & Shotguns, (carry from vehicle or between stages) 1.4.1 Rifles & shotguns must be cased or carried slung with the muzzle down. 1.4.2 Rifles & shotguns must be carried with actions open and detachable magazines removed. I will be bringing my "Official USPSA Multigun Nationals Chamber Flag", just becase it is so cool
  21. Thanks for the replies! Factory SV Limited 5 incher Bull barrel
  22. Thank you....I thought I read that lunch was provided both days, but could not find it anywhere. Ready to get on the road!
