  1. Not I.....not real impressed with this whole procedure.
  2. I guess the part that burns my ass the most is the "you will be notified by Thursday" part. We are planning an all day drive to get there, and driving over night to get home early Monday morning. We can't get our room refunded, so I guess we are S.O.L.
  3. Just got an email saying that the match may be canceled, and that they might have a training session instead. First, I waste money getting a room through hotwire, which sticks me with a hotel room in New Jersey. I panic regarding the firearms laws in NJ, and get a room in NY. Neither room is refundable, and now I get this message. I sure am excited.
  4. The load Flex posted is the one that I use for production in my M&P. Any less Titegroup than 3.6 grains has led to function issues for me with the stock spring.
  5. I'm all horned up to see it. I only hope that the original story remains intact. Reading Cliffs Notes versions of the story of King Leonidas gives me goosebumps.
  6. I use a bottle of touch up paint, instead of a marker....the bristles of the paintbrush are more forgiving than a marker, and the paint is easier to see.
  7. No linky? Just curious to see what they have to say.
  8. In my comment, I wasn't piling on Nugent. If anything, maybe he will teach him something. Zumbo stated in his apology that Nugent was taking him hunting with an AR. Obviously, Nugent has a stronger stomach than most of us do at this point.
  9. What ticks me off almost as much as the first of his blog entries is how he tries to tell us all what a swell fellow he is in the second post. I don't give a darn if he wipes his butt with the Communist Manifesto, he still said what he said, and meant it when he said it. Apparently, his going hunting with Ted Nugent is going to make everything all better though, just like when a politician with an anti-gun voting record goes pheasant hunting during an election. We are all supposed to think everything is hunky dory because they are out afield with a shotgun in their hands. Old Jim will be just great in everyone's eyes as soon as he shoots a coyote with an AR. Sorry Jimbo, I'm just not that easy to fool.
  10. This is what my 11-87 is doing post easyloader install. Am I screwed at this point, and in need of a new carrier, or is there an adjustment that I'm not smart enough to see on my own?
  11. Is this what you are talking about? GM diet
  12. I figured he was impaled on broken booze bottles after falling out of the ceiling for the second time. No such luck. One can only hope that he has never reproduced.
  13. I never had any luck with the hi cap SKS magazines. With practice, stripper clips can be pretty speedy.
  14. With the muzzle pointed at our friend, with the slide closed, and our finger on the trigger. Wow.
  15. Here are some DIY instructions. I might even translate them if I have more time next week. But looking at the photos might help some. http://www.toiminta-ampujat.fi/phpBB/viewtopic.php?t=566 t tommi I'd like to see a translation. I curious as to what is going on with the rubber band on the hammer, and the wire piece on the trigger group.
  16. For a 135 gr. bullet though? I built the load based on a few sources, one of which being hodgdon's web site.
  17. A little more info on what I was shooting last night when this was noticed: 40 s&w 135 gr. berrys bullet 5.8 gr. titegroup 1.125 oal Looking back at spent brass from previous outings, I think that the symptom of the "flash mark" on the side of the brass might date back to roughly the same time as I started using a lee factory crimp die. Is this a possible correlation? My main concern is my health and safety, followed by the lifespan of my firearm.
  18. Yesterday, I got to the range right at dusk. We generally wrap up shooting outside when it gets dark, but this time of year, we squeeze in every minute of outdoor trigger time we can get. One of the guys I shoot with just got an MGM double swinger, so I had to try it out. After I got done shooting, one of the other guys that was watching us said that about every fifth round, he could see flash coming from my ejection port. When you look at my brass, you can see where gases are coming around the case a bit. The pistol is an M&P 40. The rounds that I was shooting are not very hot by any stretch of the imagination. How concerned should I be about this?
  19. Closet turned in to a reloading bench:
  20. I got a survey from S&W last week. One of the questions was if I'd be interested in a 5" version in .45 acp.
  21. I think revchuck has the most sensible solution. Thanks for the input from all.
  22. I was given 8 pounds of number nine by a friend who doesn't reload anymore. Looking at all of the specs that I have found, it really isn't an optimal choice for 40 s&w, being more of a magnum powder. Has anyone loaded it at all in 40? Any recommended loads for Limited 10 major? I'll also be shooting production soon, but I'm thinking this isn't going to be of any use there. TIA
