  1. Bruce, yes the lodge is the spot for registration. Starts at 9; see you then. Say hi to me. I'll be behind the table.
  2. Hi Phillip, I certainly understand your concern and wish there was something I could do to help. As far as I know it's too late to roll back, but all those decisions (such as having a special classifer match) come from over my head anyway. I agree the turnout will be affected by this. @TwoShot at least you'll be able to see a lot better when all is done! Good luck brother! Regards, Chad
  3. Bumping thread one week prior to match! Come shoot the Rock with us on the 27th!
  4. Howdy folks, This time around we're running a match with four classifiers and one extra-long field course. The stages are: CM 09-01 Six In Six Challenge CM 03-09 On The Move CM 99-10 Times Two CM 99-27 Lefty's Revenge 36 round field course (yes, I said 36 rounds.) As usual we'll open registration at 9am and shooting begins 10-10:30. Cost is $20. In case you need directions, here's the host range's site: Rockcastle Shooting Center Hope you come out to shoot with us, and come early for breakfast or stay after for dinner at the lodge!
  5. Happy shooter here. I have finished my Caspian .40 SS! Freedom Gunworks tri-topped it and parkerized it. I uploaded a handful of pics in the gallery here, but here's a shot of the girl: In my application here I mentioned the serial number, but as a reminder here's how I feel about SS division (numeric suffixed edited out):
  6. This one is a tool and not a showpiece, and as such doesn't belong in the company of the artistry I see in this thread. Got my Caspian .40S&W finished. Freedom Gunworks did the tri-top and parkerizing. Sorry for the iPhone pics; I tried to clean them up a bit but it didn't help much. I edited out the numeric suffix, but you can see that I built this with the Single Stack division in mind.
  7. Same story here. I don't do anything to the 47s and they run perfectly in a .40.

    para p16 magazines

They won't for me either, unless there's still a round in them. Haven't investigated yet.
  9. The stock mag catch is plastic. You'll new this one: http://www.brownells.com/.aspx/pid=6823/Product/GUN-CRAFT-PARA-ORDNANCE-MAGAZINE-RELEASE Note that it's already drilled and tapped and comes with an oversize button. This is the one I use with an STI button.

    P-16 questions

I'm a supporter of older Paras and I can definitely tell you that's overpriced. Glad you passed on it.
  11. Ok, it was just pointed out to me that I missed a whole squad. Sorry guys, I had those sheets seperate from the others. Maybe that'll teach your RO to meddle with me. I'll get it fixed and updated ASAP! ETA: Results are corrected and uploaded. Sorry for any confusion. Chad
  12. Match results are posted here: http://www.uspsa.org/uspsa-display-match-results-listing.php?club=KY16 We had a slim turnout today; those of you who didn't show sure missed a beauty of a day to shoot. @JWeber - I'll get the full schedule for you.
  13. Yes it is! According to the weather channel, it'll be a balmy 65 degrees at 10am when we start. Sounds good to me!
  14. S&W started producing 1911s under their name back when I still had my retail store open. If I recall correctly, they had been building frames/slides for other companies for years, and used this knowledge to begin production of their own version. FWIW, I used a base-model SW1911 back in '05 for three gun, and after converting it to .460 Rowland I shot it in pin matches for two years. Never had a single failure of any kind out of that gun.
  15. Come shoot Rockcastle with us this Saturday!
  16. 45 minutes north of ya in Bowling Green KY. Welcome!
  17. It wouldn't be a DQ anyway, because you WERENT finished yet! BUT... What is 'lights'??
  18. My Limited slide is very light and I run a very light spring too. As a result I use Wilson shok-buffs and replace them every other match, which is about how long it takes to chew through one. I like knowing its not battering itself to death while I enjoy the snappy recoil impulse, so I guess there's still a place for them if you like the feel. Never had any malfunctions.
  19. When RO-ing the 2012 Shooting Industry Masters I greeted each squad with my name and explained that I'd be using USPSA standard range commands. I appreciated the knowing nods from the shooters; I like to believe that it gave the shooters from our sport a bit of comfort since almost every stage was being run differently.
  20. I'm OCD about commands being by the book. I remember in my RO class, there was a guy who said 'show me a clear gun' instead of 'unload and show clear'. The instructor refused to budge until the student said it right. He was humiliated and really PO'ed about it afterward, grumbling that it means the same thing and is good enough.
  21. Who's ready to shoot the Rock again? I know I am! September's minimum round count is 145, and the classifier is CM99-57 Bookout's Boogie. Registration begins at 9am Central, and shooting starts between 10-10:30 depending on attendance. The resturant in the lodge is open for breakfast and dinner, and it's awesome. Rockcastle website Hope to see you there!
  22. I feel ya. Never met one that I liked.
  23. I use Titegroup for .40 Minor. In a 4" M&P, a 180 gr Montana Gold JHP over 3.5 gr of Titegroup nets me a 125-130 PF.
