I was there too on squad 5. Scarbrough is where I normally shoot IDPA. The stages were fun. It was a run very well and the SO's were on the ball. Ken

I have some with the USP in 45acp. My brother owns one and shoots it in SSP. I like the pistol very smooth and seems to be acurate. Mainly I shoot in CDP with my 1911. Also he uses Blade Tech gear and a pile of spare mags. Ken

Should IDPA get rid of the classifcation system?
Hawkster replied to Chills1994's topic in IDPA Shooting
How about shooting 3 or so matches and taking an average to classify for the 1st time. New shooter could be placed in a penelty class till an average is finalized. I have just started in IDPA and will shoot my 1st classifier next month. Either way I want to move up the ranks. Ken -
I got an 29-2 in Nickel and I like that black finish with that cylinder. Ken

Has anyone seen the new S&W 325 Thunder Ranch? I have been trying to get one. My local shop but they have not been able to find it. Even being from the performance center I thought it would for sale by now. Ken

I have been shooting Trap for years. From experience if you shoot only Trap get a Trap gun. I wasted alot of money on the wrong guns for the game. Myself I use the Remington 870ct 30" barrel. Ideally an O/U is best then a semi auto second. Semi's need to be kept very clean or they jam on you at the wrong time. Beretta 682's are nice, Browning Xt's are cheaper and they shoot very too. Beretta 391 or Remington 1100 bothe fine guns many poeple shoot the in my area. Gun fit is a big deal n Trap. Adjustable combs and lenght of pull recoil pad adjustments really will help you score. I have shot sporting clays, skeet and 5-stand with my Trap gun I come from a famly of Trapshooters and work at a couples clubs loading targets before the automatic traps came out. Hopefully my obeservations will aid you in some way. Ken

I have been wanting to try ICORE for some time now. Are there any clubs in or near Maine. I live just outside of Portland. ICORE looks realy fun from what I have seen. I have been shooting IDPA and ATA. Ken

I used to buy the 100 round packs from Wally World. They worked fine nothing I'd shoot a major match with. Lately I haven't seen any on thier shelves around me here in Maine. Hawkster

I never that maybe sports stores like Dick's might make a deal like that. The last time they had a sale I bought 10 flats, cleaned them out. The looks I got and was asked if it was a joke. Thanx for the ideas of where to start. Hawkster

'Allo everyone. I have been searching for a place to buy shotgun shells in bulk. 50 to 100 flats at a time, something like Estate or Rio and maybe Wolf. Plan is to shoot the at Trap events so I could avoid the rising costs of reloading. Hawkster

Wayne, Thanx for the tips. I wish my club would let me use the machine to practice the darn hard lefts. Being a right hand shooter. I asked once, was going to buy my own targets but they are just being pig headed. After a few shoot I have fixed some thing I was doing wrong. Moving the gun with the arms and not using my upper body to chase targets. Time and lots of practice are whats needed now. Hawkster

I am looking foward to getting out and doing some practice. But the weather has has brought winter back. Snow is the forecast for night 3-6 inches.. Then it may go back to the 70's the next day. Durring the shoot I chose to start on stand 5 which went better than expeted. Stand 1 I didn't break even. I left my self 2,3 and 4 to make up the score. Hoping to get my bad stand done and over with. Hawkster

Sunday was the 1st Trap shoot of the season here in Maine. I did well in the 16 yard event then had some real trouble with that darn hadicap event. Double went well having shot them for the 1st time ever. I have found my worst stand is good ole number 1 with the extreme left hand target. It didn't matter what stance I tried or hold point I missed way to many. Would any one have a suggestion on practing for that stand or any tips in general.. Hawkster

I think it saves money in 2 ways. 1st You can shoot Skeet or Sporting Clays with the same gun keeping costs down for ammo. 2nd It keeps me from spending another 2 or 3 grand on another shotgun. Hawkster

I have been bothered by the same problem. I had one site I was on and clicked the SV link and got some dumb porn site. Then those darn pop-up windows start flying in I spent a good minute closing the things.. Hawkster

Being a native Mainah, who parks his cah in the yad. The yad is Portland, Maine. This guy was most deffinetly from away. A tip from a real Mainah never ask is a road goes anywhere, the only reply you'll get will be "nope it just stays right there all year round." Hawkster

Golf, Well it should be played to ease the stress of work. I play with some guys from work for just a good time. "Grip it and Rip it" a good motto.. For me a I slowed down when I prepare to crush that little bright yellow ball into the giant lake. Sometimes it works. Above all It's just a game. Hawkster

I found an cheaper set, at Cabelas.. all four gauges about $110. Not a grand as what Seminloe Gunworks offers. I may just get a pair and see for my self. Maybe 20 gauge something to play with at 5-Stand.. Hawkster
