  1. It's been said that sponsor money for the Cup was being syphoned to other NRA activities. It's not just that money was short, it was used for something else.
  2. Glock offers a "red gun" that is a non firing, reset trainer also. I haven't been able to find anything for the M&P.
  3. Yeah, the $400 is too much for me. The last Sirt I tried had like a 10# trigger.
  4. Yep, on both. Trigger pull is about half but at least I get the feedback of the click while on the sights. It was too much fitting to get the timing right though. Just a rough draft for the concept.
  5. Ok. One way to get around having to take it apart would be to make it fully functional. Still a work in progress. The trigger resets the sear right after releasing the striker. The click you hear after the first pull is the sear resetting. Not sure I like this design but I just threw it together to see if it could work.
  6. That's one reason I initially looked at a dry fire striker assembly. Quick and easy to change, plus no tip. Couldn't ignite a primer. No worries about wearing the pin holes out. Ideally, the break feel would be tunable to match what you are used to.
  7. Aimtech is interesting. I'll look further into that. Yes, I want a reset trigger. Click release on pull, click for reset. I'm looking into it.
  8. If one existed, to give you an audible click during trigger pull and reset, would you be interested? Would you be willing to swap the striker assembly for this? Sear housing? If it eliminated the risk of touching off a live round, would swapping parts then be worth it? I've looked, didn't see anything for M&P's on the market. Did I miss it? After messing with the 320 for a couple weeks, I really liked dry firing it (trigger reset sear). For doing steel and fast transitions, the felt "click" really helped with feedback.
  9. At the VA/MD, yes. That's the only major I've been to this year.
  10. The double click is fixable. It's also not present during live fire. I've tried to replicate it. I tried, believe me. It's the timing of the striker release vs sear reset. Also means that gun will likely have a longer reset distance until it's fixed. Sig said a trigger bar swap will fix it. I just messaged the right parts until I closed the timing gap. Just looked at the striker and safety block. Didn't see any signs. I measured the locations of the parts initially. I did have to move the release point back a little to ensure the block safety was clear. That was during initial set up and testing. Shot a Sectional last Sunday and it was 100%.
  11. The sproing trigger can be tuned out. The trigger is over sprung for mass consumption. I don't think it will ever have the short reset that the m&p is capable of but yet I'm still intrigued by it. I dry fired a Grey worked 320 this weekend. Honestly, in about 100 rds I could be switched over. I really like the solid, flat trigger. Also, the large grip felt great. Thought it would be too big, it was nice. That said, I'm still loving this M&P. I needed to replace the trigger bar so I moved the loop back some on the new one, changed the angle and replaced the striker. Now the trigger breaks much further fwd. I use an over travel stop so the reset is still short. At the va/md match the chrono tech checked it over, including the trigger safety. Yep, all functional. Lol, I think I was the highest non-sig production shooter.... not exactly what I was hoping for.
  12. I've shot a few XD's. Granted, I've not done any trigger jobs on them so I'm only comparing stock. Nor have I demo'd anyone's worked over XD. I have issues with the grip safety, trigger feel and reset length. Feels top heavy when shooting. Accuracy is below Glock by a good margin. Grip is comfortable and points naturally though. Yes, I know TGO's gun shoots 4" at 50m and I'm sure the trigger is stupid nice. However, his is about as stock as my M&P. Just my opinion on it though.
  13. The MHS trials: 90% hit probability in 4" target at 50m. Any manufacturer in the running will have to do that. Also read that S&W partnered with another large company for their submittal. The 320 target. Yes the frame module to slide fit is not as tight as it could be. However it is one of the issues the target model was supposed to address. Not sure it will make the final cut though. If not, it's SS. I will Tig it and recut. There are other rumors about that gun too. If they do 90% of what in hearing, I will buy one.
  14. My recommendation, if you are staying with striker fired... the 320 or PPQ. I've worked on a few 320's and got the pull weight down to 3.75 with factory parts (except the trigger spring I made). I really like the trigger reset sear for dry firing. Accuracy wise, it's even with my welded and recut factory barrel. The PPQ has an outstanding trigger. Very accurate too, just expensive. However, Smith IS coming out with a new model too.
  15. Bummer to hear. I just picked up a couple locking bocks and sear housings. I'm going to weld these up, then recut everything parallel. I'm curious if I notice a difference. As for your extractor issue. I've had that happen on one in the past. There is a fix, without buying anything if you're interested.
  16. I just looked at the appendix page of the rules. Confirmed that all ported models are legal, if non ported barrel is used. Now, does this mean I can clone it using my Pro? I just want the darn trigger stop. I made an internal one that works but the trigger still flexes (I mash the trigger).
  17. Doesn't the PC ported version also have the trigger over travel stop? Seems that model, with a 5" Apex barrel would be perfect!
  18. Good point on the decocker. If your thumbs (thumbs fwd grip) push it down too much you can get light strikes. I've seen this happen.
  19. If you take it to a Gunsmith, take your ammo. Specify exactly what you want. It can literally by done in under 5 minutes. To specify, the Apex chamber is not short, just a snug throat.
  20. All we need are over sized locking blocks and sear housings. Then machine until the slide just fits.
  21. If the Costa is legal, mine should be good. 34.0oz with mag. I'll check the width tomorrow. Barrel length is good.
  22. You should define your accuracy expectations. Also, that top level shooter might have had the barrel reworked, as I did, in order to improve the accuracy. This is quite common, even among pro shooters that are shooting "production" (wink wink) guns. Mine shot fine for USPSA (3"-4" @ 25) however it would never have been acceptable for Bianchi. Now that it shoots 1" @ 25 I have the confidence to hit anything the sights are on.
  23. Thanks for posting the info. Hopefully I can test this week.
  24. The Ogive is usually long on 147's. Do you have a standard 9mm chamber reamer? You could see if it drops in and spins free. Will likely catch on the rifling. I can check mine. Throat might be a bit tighter than stock.
