  1. 04/09/08 I felt really good about my performance this last weekend. I was anxiously awaiting the results which were posted this morning. I am not sure what exactly has changed but I have now won my 4th match in a row. This last weekend I was in some great company and it was very close. It was also another match in which I had no Mikes/Penalties/No Shoots. It is amazing what happens to your scores when those are eliminated. Bender and I had a wager and needless to say, I won. We also had a shoot off afterwards, which he won the best 2 out of 3. I am not dry firing or live firing right now. Things are very busy with my business. It is working for now but I know it won't last forever. Here are the results. Circleville
  2. I have a USP .40 Fullsize that I have used in SSP, ESP and Production in USPSA. The gun has run flawlessly and I have never had a problem with the bouncy recoil. When loaded to minor I have been able to shoot it quite fast and accurately.
  3. I'll say it again, for everyone in the Central Ohio area, we really appreciate Jason and Chad stepping up to keep these matches going. Both matches have been fun and I expect that will continue on through the season. You guys kick ass. Just so happens, I kicked a little ass today too. That of one P.Bender.
  4. It was a lot of fun today PB. I appreciate the kind words from both you and Flyin. I wish I could put my finger on what exactly has switched for me. It feels like I am just shooting and not trying so hard. It certainly isn't because I am practicing my ass off. When I used to golf, it seemed like I would play my best rounds after some long lay offs. This year my dry fire is minimal at best and live fire outside of matches has been absolutely absent. I do visualize shooting at night before falling asleep but that is really it. I am excited to see the overall results.
  5. There are some great board members in the GA area. Glad you're here and there are plenty of folks to hook up with the burn some ammo.
  6. 3/19/08 Well upon further review I did better than I thought in the overall results. Check it Second overall makes me very happy. Especially considering the company.
  7. 3/17/08 The results were posted and it looks like I won my division again. This was unexpected since I really tanked one stage in particular. In fact it was a big ZERO. There were 16 competitors in Limited this time so I feel pretty good. What I can take away from this performance was doing poorly on small stages wasn't as damaging as it could have been. I was able to put that stage out of my mind and finish strong on the remaining stages. When I looked at the other division winners I was actually the lowest in point total, so that would put me at 6th overall. The two stages that were not good for me were because I was not seeing my front sight and going faster than I could see an acceptable sight picture. The stages were I saw well I did well. I just need to continue to be patient. Division Name USPSA Competitors Limited Drew B. A56546 16 Limited_10 Millard M. A56749 3 Open John F. A40907 4 Production Kyle F. A44001 8 Revolver Pat S. 8. (Thread drift on) This has of the hottest topics started in a while. Z's 1911 Snob thread took 2 days to hit 9 pages. The "Show us your workbench thread" took a year to hit 9 pages. Nice work Z (Thread Drift off)
  9. Took forever to get up to speed on this thread. But now that I am, I have to say I think this is a great idea. Jim - there is nothing in Z's idea that says you will have to pay $500 and that your money will go to the Pros. Those who want to shoot as amatures continue to do so. You pay lower match fees and your prize table would be smaller industry prizes, trophies, handshakes or pats on the back. The Pro designation and the Pro entry fee create their prize money and their prize money only. Anyone who CHOOSES to give the pro match a run can do so. No one is saying you have to. Everybody who tries to make it professionally has to make sacrifices. They bottom line is they make they choice to do so. This idea gives folks a chance to try and do something they love AND make some money. As for how to make this a sport that is better received by spectators, I would like to see what smaller versions of the the sky-cams that are used in football could do. You mount them on top of barricades, fly them overhead, and add poser cams and you could possibly make it more exciting and involving for the avergage joe couch potato.
  10. Yes he made it. It was surprisingly cold for as sunny as it was. Seevers made it so I thought you would have headed our way.
  11. 3/16/08 Shot the Rayner's match this week. As usual there is a large amount of steel. I think this has been a huge confidence builder to shoot this much steel. I wasn't real pleased with today's outing. I had moments of lights out shooting and then there were a couple of stages where you would have thought the lights were out by how poorly I did. As a result I don't have feel for how I will do in the overall results for Limited. The classifier was the new one "7". I tanked it. Fortunately it will be far enough below to not be included. I smoked two stages, tanked one, good on another and decent on the last. The only saving grace is the two I didn't do so well on where lower point stages. Once the results are posted, likely tomorrow, I will put them in here. As usual it was great to shoot with the likes of Flex & Flyin40. There were at least 4 other BE folks on our squad, but of course I don't know their screen names. It was good to see and shoot with them as well.
  12. I knew what he meant, he was uping the anti and we hadn't mentioned this level of competition. I am not putting up the Brazos for this wager. We'll have to come up with another idea.
  13. Thanks Chirs. A year at each level seems like the comfortable thing. One the other hand I know that sometime we have to do the uncomfortable things to achieve greatness. Bottom line is I am glad to have have achieved another one of my goals and we'll just see what happens.
  14. I can appeciate the creativity to build one, but why would you want that small an Open gun.
  15. I have seen Dave Matthews band several times live and they put on a great show. Some of my other favorites... Saw Pearl Jam and Jane's Addiction in Austin at the old Collesium, maybe held 3000. It kicked a$$. Also saw Sound Garden on the Loud Love tour at the same place and it too was jammin'.
  16. Thanks Quick. Actually, I think A class is over classified but we will see.
  17. Are you dodging me man? We'll see ya in April then. Shootin' for guns huh? I thought we were doing straight up HF skins? Thanks for all of the comments everyone.
  18. I currently had to deal with this situation when attempting to get a gun from a fellow BE'er. Some places here in Ohio will only accept transfers from other dealers (Gander Mountain) by company policy. Others will accept transfers from individuals but will not provide copies of their FFL certificates. I was also told by one dealer that FedEx and UPS keep records of FFLs and when you drop one off at the hub, they can verify if the address belongs to an FFL. Regardless it is a pain in the ass. In the end we had to go to use an FFL on both ends which added some additional expense for the gun.
  19. I will be there. Are we going to have our bet?
  20. I forgot to log my practice last weekend. Dry fired for about an hour and then loaded 2000 rounds to get that out of the way. Well I finally made it to A class. Just checked the site. classification.bmp My original goal was to have this rank by July of last year. I knew it would come and things have progressed just as they were supposed to. I have shifted my focus to just shooting consistently and letting the classes come when they come. I anticipate I will be well on my way to M class after the results of the last classifier match. I am looking forward to this weekend's match at Rayner's. Hopefully the weather will be nice and there will be a good turn out.
  21. Just checked the site and I am now an A class shooter. I am only about 9 months behind schedule...at least from last year's goals. What I know is that I am actually right on time. I was hoping to see some improved class finishes in major matches this year but I will just have to win A class instead. Should the scores come up as expected I will be much closer to M class after the last Ohio Classifier match. I guess I need to ramp up the practice schedule as to not get my butt handed to me.
  22. At Nationals they said it was his 21st or 25th straight year of winning that. I bet the folks in the Revo forum know all to well.
