Looks for Range (1/11)

  1. Anyone see results from the ELS match??? I shot it on Saturday and have not heard anything.
  2. All I have to say is Glock 40 you pretty much said it all. Leave production the HELL ALONE! Now is not the time for changes.
  3. I don't konw if I want to go with you guys now. It sounds like you need alone time.
  4. I do like Smith guns, but these shoot like crap. The M&P seems alot nicer.
  5. I went down that road about 4months ago.I can't see the advantage to shooting 40 minor. The recoil impluse was different and felt very strange. Maybe something you really have to get use to. It was not enough to make me switch. 147gr 9mm is about as soft as it gets.
  6. Don't worry Dave i'm sure if they reverse the ruling they will send you a check for $2k lol
  7. Just left McGreggor's was too food drunk to enjoy the selection of beer. I had a couple of fair beers. There is always next year, I just won't eat as much before.
  8. Has anyone gone to chrono( Major Match) with Atlanta arms 9mm 147gr. JHP factory reloaded ammo with a 4 or 4.5" NON-glock gun? If so where did it come in?
  9. I have to agree with Nik. The rules are written and done. People have spend money and time on gear now is not the time to pull the rug out from under them. If you gun falls under the rules as written then it should be fine and not changed. If your mods are not legal under the rules then shame on you. My trigger pull in DA is 8.5lbs., Novak fixed sights, and some skateboard tape and this is what I have chosen to use. I don't care if anothers is 2.5 for the first shot as long as it is safe. "Someone once told me dance in the shoes that you chose to go to the dance in" If you don't like the rules shoot IDPA they like to change the rules weekly!
  10. S&W 5906 with 5" should be fine. The gun is a 5906 with a 5" slide. 5906 guns have been out for years. It is a factory offered part. I have one of these but have not used it for anything.
  11. I have no problem with an RO asking. I usually will tell the RO before I load if I am going to do something different or unusual, especially because I am left handed.
  12. Gotta feel bad for the guys on his squad (like me)who had to shoot after him on this stage. George made the pit all bloody!!!!!
  13. I use a set of novak fixed sights on my sig the rear is a standard dovetail carry. The front sight is a .100 wide blade kevin at novak made me. I would buy a new set and get rid of the files, they will just get you in trouble.
  14. This is a post from Bruce Gray elsewhere: For most shooters with average or larger hands (and who knows exactly what that means?), the short trigger seems to impair the separation of muscles in the trigger finger from the rest of the hand. The added convulsive effect during rapid SA fire is further aggravated by the increased leverage which the short trigger affords. Steering the shot through the trigger is the commonly observed result. I also believe I see a greater tendancy to stall (or, fail to reset) the short trigger under stress and time pressure. This can be trained around, of course, but I'm led by experience to believe fast SA shooting with the short trigger is more difficult for most shooters. I just keep coming back to my observations that most everyone ends up shooting the standard trigger better in SA, and little to no worse in DA. If quoting me, you should have included the part of my post where I said, "For me, the short trigger was the way to go". I didn't say it was for everyone, just for me. I have shot the P226 with both triggers and always did better with the short trigger. So maybe I am the exception to the norm but I am glad the short trigger exists. You also quote Bruce as saying it there seemed to be more a problem for those with average or larger hands. That is probably very true but I already stated I had smaller hands. As for problems with reset, the short triggered P226 has never been a problem. The gun I have trouble with fast SA shooting and reset is my BHP. Trust me on this Bruce is right, unless you can not reach the trigger because of small hands stay away from the short trigger.
  15. Anyone gone to chrono with atlanta arms ammo 147gr 9mm with a sig or 4.4" barrel gun? My chrono is showing around 865-885. (alittle close). Don't want the pucker factor during a major match.
