  1. Thanks sarge! And sorry y’all for the late replies. I have to go to work and they don’t let me use my phone. Gotta love retail!
  2. That’s definitely nice to do. All though I never served, the community I’m from and 90% of my friends are military vets or combat veterans. Its nice to know I’m definitely supporting a veteran and their business if I decide to order one.
  3. Hey man! That is pretty cool that your here, I’m happy to be able to even communicate with a builder. I’m definitely considering yours because they not only look great but seem to function really well. How does you gun stack up against some of the others out there as far as return to zero? I did see the one slow mo video on I think it was IG but haven’t seen much besides that. Also what’s the warranty like ? If any.
  4. Wow, I didn’t know he was on here. I’ll have to message him and ask him some questions. Thanks attakmint.
  5. Thanks Sarge, I think your right, in fact the current open build I have (JLHardy shorty) is good but it’s just getting really old. I’m trying to find a decent one in that $4k - low $5k price range. Personally I have already had a CZ and they just don’t fit my small hands. I know, I’ve been cursed with short Italian fingers. So CZ’s are great but not the way to go for me. I’ve been having a hard time trying to search for open guns specifically for sale. I keep getting thousands of results that aren’t related to open guns that are for sale ( a lot of questions about parts and reloading for them) . Is there better ways to specifically search benos classifieds in a more specific manner to get better results or am I stuck searching a few hundred pages at a time?
  6. Hey guys, I’ve been looking at this builder, Defions Arms, I’ll link the website below. I can’t seem to find anything about them besides their own Instagram profile. Does anyone have experience with them? Any problems? They have fantastic prices. About $4900 for gun without an optic. Most of them resemble the Atlas chaos or some of the Akai open guns. I wanted to get some opinions before I order one since their a good price, seem to run well (with what little info is out there about them), and generally look pretty bad ass. So if you have any experience with Defions Arms please let me know. I can’t really afford other open builders as I’m already selling a JL Hardy short and an STI DVC L in 40 with the island barrel to make the cost of this gun. https://defionsarms.com
  7. So unfortunately I dropped a precious bottle of H4350 as I was walking to my front door and it slipped out of my hands. When it hit the concrete porch, it spilled about half the bottle. Luckily some spilled into a small pile and I saved some in a bag that didn’t exactly touch the ground but the question is, what do I do with spilled powder? Now I know how to properly dispose of it but can I still save the powder if it touched the ground or is it all contaminated and can’t be used. I want to use it for precision rifle so consistency is key I know but is the spilled powder still usable for reloading ? It spilled in a dry area so it didn’t get wet or dirty, but it touched the concrete outside so it can only be so clean. Is it okay to still use spilled powder if their are no particulates in the powder ? Should I have saved all the stuff that fell and used it after sifting it out ? I didn’t know what to do as I feel like kid that dropped his ice cream and can’t get another. thanks
  8. I think I have it figured out, thanks for the help guys, when I start loading 40 after firing the ammo I have made, I will load my rounds at least 1.18. 1.12. Gun is currently with the smith to have a thumb rest [generic] thumb rest installed. do y’all thing shooting this shorter ammo could cause any issues besides possible set rack ?
  9. Yeah I kinda figured it was way short since I made about 600 rds of ammo for my CZ TSO that had a short chamber, now that I’ve sold it and gotten a 2011, I basically need to shoot the ammo and reload it to a longer length.
  10. Thanks Mrevolutionlx, I kinda figured that would have been the issue but I like to get the experience of others like y’all. I am currently using blue bullets 180gr RNFP bullets, I still have a bunch left so I don’t know if I could change bullets, I still have over a thousand bullets left from my last order. current load data for my .40 loads: 4.2 gr titegroup BB 180 RNFP CCI primers seated at 1.125 “
  11. Well I kind of though after the op that maybe it could be my seating depth, as my reloads were made for my CZ TSO with a short OAL. Could the short OAL possibly cause this ?
  12. Hello everyone, im not sure if this is more of a reloading question or a gunsmithing question but here goes. I bought an STI 2011 DVC limited with an island barrel chambered in .40. Now I just got back from the range shooting it for the first time and noticed that when I was shooting, it was feeding as normal and shooting very well, but I felt that while the gun was cycling another round, it felt like it was “catching” almost as when you let a slide down while chambering and it jams, but it wasn’t jamming. It’s weird and hard to describe but while the gun was firing it felt as if the round going into the chamber was catching the feed ramp while chambering. Has anyone else experienced this ? Or does anyone know if it’s an issue I should worry about? Is it normal? Am I just overthinking like I usually do? Please let me know if y’all have any experience with this. I’ll attach some pics below so I don’t rustle any feathers lol. https://photos.app.goo.gl/viKHVePsnTyQ9XYo9
  13. I know right?! All kidding aside though, the moment he has a training class in VA I’m gonna take it, I just hope it’s not $2k per person
  14. Still winning all the open matches all the time, not letting anyone else win lol. Great guy sailer
  15. Sounds like you need to do a lot of reading, the thing about 9mm major is that it’s technically a “wildcat” round, all though popular in competition circuits, it’s not a production round for obvious safety reasons. your seating depth, charge weight, and bullet will matter a lot in making wildcat rounds like 9 Maj. One thing you absolutely need to have is a chronograph, to measure velocity. This is because you will be trying to get in a very small window between high velocity and acceptable pressure ranges which is where CARFUL testing is REQUIRED. You need to check brass for high pressure songs like flat/cratered primers etc. my and everyone else’s advice will be to step back a little and do some more load development so you can get it all right. rounds like 9 Maj are the reason why people don’t shoot their friends reloads because you really can blow up a gun and hurt yourself very easily as compared to common bullet reloading. There are lots of forums on 9 Maj relapsing questions, read a bunch of those first then develop the right load, then go to competition. It’s not something to just jump right in head first with. Sorry for writing s book it’s just a lot of information one needs when loading 9 Maj safely and effectively, I learned it the hard way.
  16. I’m so happy it’s back, there really is a boatload of super helpful info on here. I wonder what changes were made.
  17. I found in my CZ TSO and this goes for most CZ guns, that’s the oal needs to be around .002 - .004 shorter than other guns do for different loads. That was my TSO .40 for limited. my 2011 open gun is loaded at 1.170 but as said CZ’ sneed em short. As for the primer issues, you could always try a heavier main spring to help with ignition but it may come down to the round sticking out of the barrel a little to far. The plunk test is helpful though. That will really help.
  18. I’m using 7.1 grains of Autocomp behind 125. Gr blue bullets TC’s
  19. As stereotypical as it is, the John wick series is great, I just wish they would elaborate more on John wicks story more than just plain close quarters gun fights.
  20. I absolutely love that show! Watched the whole two seasons in a week. It sucks that they’re not gonna make a new season anytime soon but the articles I read said they will eventually come back to it due to its popularity but we all kind of know that it may not happen. Loved the Ed kemper interviews. I can’t wait to see how that guys adopted kid turns out, they were kind of subliminally saying he has all the traits to be the next BTK.
  21. That’s what I think I have that’s kind of the issue, thanks for replying btw sarge. If I’m not wrong, you can tell it’s the v4 if the optic turns on after putting in the battery tray right? If so then mine is the v4.
  22. Oh well that’s just delightfully not cost effective for C-more owners I guess huh? I guess I should just get a better optic.
  23. Thanks to the both of you that replied, I’ve kind of come to the same conclusion that I just need to clean it every stage or two, I use some alcohol wipes that I took from work and a microfiber cloth to clean it about every stage depending on the round count. my issue now is the C-more RTS2 itself having issues but that may be for a different post, not to mention all the other posts that talk about, I might just get the Romeo 3 max soon.
  24. But wouldn’t covering up the dot prevent one from being able to superimpose the dot properly ? Like I wouldn’t be able to see the exact point on the target I want the dot to be on right? you have me curious now lol.
  25. Have any suggestions for a better mount that solved your issue?
