  1. I agree. Try before you spend big dollars. If you post your general location I'm sure BE Forum members will be glad to shoot with you and let you try our latest and oldest too. I let new shooters try out my guns whenver asked. Give it a try. You'll be glad you did and will save lots of $$ and get lots of good adise o what works and what does not with respect to guns, ammo, rigs, etc. Have fun!!
  2. DO NOT FLY INTO NEWARK!! Recently a gentleman from Utah flew into Newark and spent several days in jail because he (pursuant to TSA Rules) declared his firearm that he was taking to PA. He has sued and is represented by Evan Nappen, Esquire. Fly into Philly and do not bring mags that can hold in excess of 15 rounds as they are illegal in N.J. MPG,Esq.
  3. I shoot .38 super single stack for steel and have always tried to get the 10th round. Cannot with any of the mag brands. and I,ve tried them all!! The best you can hope for is 9 in the McCormicks. They work flawlessly with 9 rounds.
  4. You should have spoken up. The RO should have DQ'd him. Talk to the match director before you shoot at the club again!
  5. Bought Safariland and Gilmoure. Nice belts but not stiff enough for big mags. Now use CR Speed-about 50 bucks.
  6. Try Mike at MLE on the dealer forum. Great guy, fine products.
  7. York is running 4 classifiers and two other stages which presumably will be the usual run and gun. They may add a seventh stage but as of Monday that was unlikely
  8. Ryan: Howard runs a nice shoot at York. I shot the classifier in the spring last year and he sends the dada in to USPSA within the week. USPSA updates their classifactions monthly so if the four scores get sent in timely as they always are from York you can expect to be classified by April's USPSA posting. Also, after you get your scores from Howard, you can go to this site and put you hit fator in for each stage and your division and it will give you you national percentage for each classifier. http://ohiouspsa.com You did not say what type of Blaster you are using and of course that will determine your USPSA division. If 1911, you can shoot in L-10 and the provisional single stack division. Otherwise, you would presumably be in production since you did not say you shoot a whhel gun. Hope tp see you there. Mike
  9. Contact Cathy Resca at Rescomp in South Africa. They are the best and mine came half way around the world at no charge in a litte over one week. My wife and I bith swear by the CR Speed gear.
  10. A well maiintained Star such as the one the fine people at Area 8 used is not difficult to shoot if you pay attention to what you are doing and shoot it logically. I was terrified when I first saw it but had no trouble witn it.
  11. Max and Travis are giving two classes in eastern PA. It's only 10 hours from Lexington!!
  12. I just signed up!! The other Pa course conflicted with a match that I sponsor and shoot in.
  13. Since you are not classifying shooters by GM/M,A,B,C and D USPSA classifications, how is STI going to do their awards assuming the shooter is part of their Contingency Program, shoots an STI frame and wears an STI shirt. (In other words, what are the tiers subject to the Contingency Program??)
  14. Good work George. Glad to see that the match is on. Unfotunately, with the date change I cannot make it but all you complainers out their owe George and the guys and ladies at Pitcairn Monroeville a big thank you for making this Area 8 match happen. Have a great time at the match.
  15. Great logo for the shirts. After last years match it is really appropriate! I'll be ordering several.
  16. John: Is it true that the payouts will no longer be by USPSA classes--GM-M-A-B-C-D??
  17. From the USPSA bylaws.... 11.2 Area Handgun Championship: The Area handgun Championship shall represent all Sections within the Area and be held within the physical confines of the Area. It is the intent of the corporation that, other than for prescribed activity fees and actual expenses of the event, the remaining proceeds from each Area Championship(s) be returned to the competitors in the form of prizes or awards. So maybe its time for a coporate tweek to help solve the problem. As it stands right now there's not going to be an Area match. Don't give up on the Area 8 Match yet. It is still being worked on.
