  1. Interesting comments. I also will not put in the time. Perhaps I should just add a magwell and heavier guide rod to my Glock 22, and call it a day?
  2. What are the differences between the Limited Custom, Elite Limited, and Stock 2?
  3. Looking for the right fit for me in a .40 competition pistol for Limited Major. I don’t reload so it needs to run factory ammo. I don’t want to tune, file, polish or gunsmith in any way - including mags. Would like to keep price at around $1,000 or under. Was considering a RIA Pro Match Ultra, but it seems that some will run factory and some don’t. Some require polishing and some don’t and mags can be an issue. Another recommendation was a Tangfolio Elite Limited.
  4. OK, I’ve continued to read reviews on this pistol and it’s hit and miss. Some run factory ammo without issue and others favor longer loads. I don’t reload and don’t plan to. Some need polishing to get everything running smoothly. Mags can be an issue. Sounds like the Tangfolio may be a better option.
  5. Considering this (future purchase) as a Limited pistol. Looks budget friendly at under $900. Any opinions on this pistol? Good choice? Issues?
  6. Bigmouth Aluminum magwell with brass insert from the Glockstore. Are these magwells good for competition? Looks like an easy install. One review noted that the magwell is too small to be used with Taran Tactical +5 extensions? Another noted that the alignment was tricky and required that you really slam it home to make sure it inserts properly.
  7. Big jump in accuracy this week with the M&P 3.6. Also ran the match without my contacts in. Really picked up the front sight much, much better tonight. Mainly need to get faster as my accuracy was good enough but I was slow overall.
  8. I can deal with the few add ons I mentioned to a M&P, but dialing in and tuning a 2011 and mags are beyond me. Those pistols look great and if they shoot as well as they look, I may have to learn.
  9. Shot a CZ 75B once at my local range. It was nice. Never shot a TS or 2011 Limited gun. Are they that much better than a Glock or M&P with add ons?
  10. It will be a while before a polymer pistol becomes my limiting factor. I can improve a whole lot shooting a Glock or M&P before I need to get something else. Not to say I wouldn’t want a CZ though, or eventually get one.
  11. Playing around with ideas about a future pistol to use in Limited. I have a stock Glock 22 Gen 4 that I could throw some add ons to, or I could pick up a trade in M&P 40 for around $250 and throw the same add ons to it. Since I already have the G22, it is the cheaper option, but that’s negligible in the grand scheme. However, I’ve always shot M&P’s better for whatever reason. Thinking a brass magwell, sights, heavier guide rod and trigger upgrade. Not looking to do this anytime soon, just thinking ahead. Any opinions or other ideas welcome.
  12. I need to be more accurate without the timer and with the timer. So, no, I probably don’t shoot with accepatable accuracy when not under the timer. So, that is first and always my first line of improvement. First time out with USPSA, I ran a Glock 22 in Limited Major and focused on my accuracy (which isn’t good), but shot ok for me in 3 out of 5 stages, but was slow. So, I tried my Glock 17 two weeks later in Limited Minor and shot faster, but my accuracy suffered a tiny bit compared to the G22 because I was going faster. I shoot the M&P better in slow fire, so I thought I’d give it a try this week. I’ll probably see improvement due to just competing, regardless of the gun I use.
  13. The reason I chose Limited was that I only had a two mag pouch and didn’t want to purchase anything for a particular division until I had shot a while. But I could try Production this week and see how it goes. I have 4 mags for the M&P.
  14. The 3.6 comes with two 15 round magazines but can be used with 17 rd M&P mags. I have two 17 rounders. I have always shot M&P’s better than Glocks and thought I might try this one out to see. If I do shoot it better, then I might look to add a full size M&P in .40 for Limited. Something that I could build a little. Just thinking.
  15. I don’t have any match specific pistols, yet... I’ve tried a couple of my full size stock Glocks in Limited with poor results. I plan to keep shooting and I thought I might try my 9mm M&P 2.0 3.6” model in Limited Minor. It’s really a concealed carry pistol and not really a match pistol, but I have shot it better in slow fire than my Glocks. Any thoughts on using this model?
  16. After shooting my first USPSA match in Limited Major with a Glock 22, I tried my Glock 17 two weeks later in Limited Minor. I thought I would improve over my dismal first outing by shooting the 17. I was actually slightly less accurate due to shooting faster and ended up with a slightly higher score. I’m planning to keep shooting and improving before deciding on what division to settle on. However, I have always shot M&P’s a little bit better than Glocks, at least in slow fire on paper. I currently own just the 3.6. And, with just a 3.6” barrel and only having one 17 round mag along with two 15 rounders, I really didn’t consider it for USPSA. But since I’m stinking it up with my Glocks, I’m planning to run the 3.6” this week. I ordered an extra 17 round magazine, so I’ll go in with two 15 and 2 17 round magazines and again shoot Limited Minor. If I show improvement with the M&P, I’ll stick with it. And downfalls to using the 3.6?
  17. I've dry fired a Shadow 2 and the single action was really good. Are you saying the Q5 SF trigger is better?
  18. Are there any assembled 9mm mags for M&P’s that have 20+ capacity and are reliable?
  19. Since he shot 9mm major out of it, couldn’t it be used for an Open pistol?
  20. If you shoot the 5” do you have to start with the safety engaged? I heard/saw/read something that said in USPSA production that if the gun had a safety, you had to start from the draw with the safety on. Can someone clarify?
  21. Just saw the Taran Tactical video where he shoots the Combat Mater. He described it as an out of the box ready to go pistol. He also shot regular 9mm and Major back to back. Is this pistol really ready to go out of the box? Or have many been sold that anyone would know?
  22. I’m guessing this happens sometimes, or a lot... a new shooter jumps into USPSA and goes straight to Open with an expensive, modified pistol. I can see it happening because there is an allure to get a tricked out gun. My issue is that I’m not mechanically inclined, don’t want to build, tune, and tinker, and just want to shoot. Which is why I find myself sticking with Glocks.... for now.
  23. Or spend the cash and buy a tricked out 2011 and jump straight to Open next week. Just kidding!
  24. I also shot a stock G22 in Limited Major after deciding not to shoot my G17 in Production first time out. From now on, I’ll shoot the G17 in Limited Minor, save money on ammo, and focus on accuracy and then speed. And once I show improvements, I’ll decide if I want to go to Production with the 17 or put some add ons to the 22 and stay in Limited.
