  1. Any pics available of the rear sight system? Maybe you could use it for production and optics? I wonder if the slide weight would be more with the plate installed

    TSO questions

What about converting a .40 to a 9major open gun? Czech mate barrell?
  3. The group size is okay. If you are 100% sure it's the gun and not you, I would go ahead and drift the rear sight (it's not that hard) mine also shot left a few inches. As for the elevation, it seems odd. Maybe a taller front sight is needed.
  4. Wow, I assumed they were drop in. (It does say that on the package) I knew I may have to smooth and de-burr
  5. I was fitting a pre-b disconnector in my S2, spent a lot of time as the finish was very rough. There was a burr on the face of one wing where it contacts the trigger bar amd one on the bottom of one wing. I filed the burrs off but not sure if that has anything to do with my issues. First the hammer would not drop in DA, so I just filed a very slight angle on the leading edge of the bottom of the wings. This would now allow the hammer to drop. I then noticed the hammer would catch the half cock when I pull the trigger quickly in DA. I still don't have the cz timing figured out 100%, can anyone help? Ps. I temporarily removed it so I could shoot a match but I will try again soon. Thanks
  6. I'd say you're doing fine. Mine is 7lbs with a cz 11lb main spring. I'm not too interested in chasing the lowest pull really, all the Reduced power springs just caught my attention
  7. Do you have trigger pull weights?
  8. I made the #19 pin as I was waiting for the sear. This fixed the problem. Sear lifts way higher and more consistent, trigger feels better also. I now have the sear but not sure if it's necessary to use it
  9. Okay, sear is taking a while to come in, Should be here any day now though. However.... I think this may be caused by sear cage movement. There is a lot on this gun, I notice if I manually hold the sear cage forward, the sear lifts much higher. I may try the modified hammer pin trick I have found on the cz forum. Is there any other way to help it? It seems the cause is the safety is too loose in the frame? Has anyone tried replacing the safety (are some slightly smaller)?
  10. What effect does the thickness of the shock buff (or removal) have on the way the gun acts? I've always used the thick that it came with (11lb recoil spring)
  11. Oops, forgot to mention it's on a dillon 650 press
  12. Does everyone have problems with primers crushing on this brass? I believe it's 1f range pick up. I wish all brass was created equal lol
  13. I can't afford another addiction after paying for all the ammo and match fees
  14. if in uk, the ipsc store in estonia can supply you with what you need
  15. You mean because of the damage done by the hook/sear catching? I can't put aftermarket parts in for ipsc production so the adjustable sear is a no go
  16. I also had a friend check his sp-01 shadow and his sear lifts higher than mine. his clears the hammer hooks no problem, mine rubs or catches the hooks
  17. Okay, I looked at the sear. The leg of the sear witch is acted upon by the trigger bar is rough. it is hard to tell if it is tooling marks or grinding marks from the previous owner. I think I will source a new sear and likely install a pre-b disconnector while I am placing the order
  18. Do you have speculation as to what part of the sear could cause this travel reduction? I just want to figure out what makes this thing tick. going to check sear now
  19. Im not really sure of a propper way to test. If I un-hook it from the trigger bar grove, both sides will extend about 1/4" upwards. when properly installed, it takes a decent amount of force to compress the trigger bar downwards. seems okay to me... Would this affect the sear travel? You suspect its hitting too low on the sear?
  20. went and checked again to be sure. sear spring is good. Maybe I should add that this has been an on going issue for a while. I have dissassembled and cleaned the pistol a few times to try to fix it. Polished the face of the disco wings a while back with 1500 grit (did not remove any metal though)
  21. I just went and checked after reading your post. The screw is tight and both legs of the spring are riding in the lower groves of the trigger bar. thanks

    sp-01 shadow woes

Hey there, I have a small problem with my shadow. If I pull the DA slowly, the hammer will not fall, upon further inspection the sear does not lift high enough and thats what is holding it back. the Hammer travels rearwards just far enough to set the sa claws. If I manually and slowly pull the hammer back, there is interference between the hammer and sear in both DA and SA. It seems like the sear never lifts high enough. the trigger is hitting against the frame (most rearward position) and if i wiggle the trigger or safety, the hammer will fall. A little history on the gun itself: Bought it used with supposedly low (1000) roundcount and I have put ~15k rounds on it plus tons of dryfire -85C trigger - No overtravel screw (it fell out) -11.5lb mainspring (tried 13lb as well) -11lb recoil spring (tried 13lb as well) -light deburing / polishing -grips and sights Any help will be greatly appreciated thanks! John.
  23. Hello, new member here. I'm John, been shooting ipsc up in Canada for about 18 months. Hoping to make it down to the US for a couple matches this year. I have learned a ton from this forum as a guest: cz stuff, 1911 stuff, technique, dillon and finally took the membership plunge lol. Love the forums! John
