  1. I thank you for your badgering, and I thank Robin for his hard work! I'll definitely be sure to report in if I have any problems, so far it's been smooth sailing! ?
  2. I even tested it, one of those mags has a bulky plastic floorplate and the other has the thin metal one. Both fit 28 with just enough give to seat on a closed action. Neither will fit 29 unless they loosen up with time.
  3. They fit 28 reloadable with Grams kits, my C-More comes in tomorrow, so I'll functions test both mags after work if it isn't snowing too hard. I'm living the 28+1 life baby! Couldn't be happier with Taylor Freelance, fast shipping, quality product. I haven't run these mags through the gambit yet, but if I were you I might think about getting yourself one of these beauts.
  4. I actually moved that muzzle platform in to its shortest length, I have the ability to move that way further out. The issue is moreso the trigger guard block portion I think.
  5. I was thinking along those lines, it sits up fairly high, I don't think it has quite the right insert.
  6. I picked up a Safariland 012 from my old boss for my Tanfoglio Elite Limited recently, and having done a couple sprints and some jumping with it it seems fairly safe, but I thought I'd ask to see if anybody here had bad experiences with them in the past. I'm thinking about adding a velcro strap for ease of mind during stage reset or long sprints.
  7. Finally I can join in! Now to impatiently waiting for my C-More to show up next week.
  8. Currently I have a stock follower and the included Taylor Freelance spring. I've ordered another 170mm pad, and 2 Grams kits that shipped today. I'll report in on them next week!
  9. Headed back from the range now, this was the first time I've shot my tanfoglio and it shoots amazingly! I ran 5 mags through the Taylor freelance without a single hitch. The only hitch I had whatsoever was one of my standard capacity mags turning bullets upwards and jamming on the first round. without a red dot or a compensator I can already shoot this thing faster than I ever shot my Smith. The trigger is so spectacular I'm doubting whether I even want to put a Henning upgrade in there. And needless to say I'm putting in an order for another Taylor freelance pad and two sets of grams followers and springs.
  10. I got it installed, fits 26 reloadable with the provided spring, and stock follower and baseplate, I couldn't fit 27. https://imgur.com/a/B9VldGD
  11. I'll be testing the new Taylor Freelance +10 extensions today or tomorrow.
  12. When I get my mag tomorrow I'll see if I can cram some 45 in it.
  13. But the basepads are larger, at least externally, than the standard magazine body, if anything shouldn't they be longer?
  14. I'll be honest, when I see companies supporting shooting sports in any capacity I'm a LOT more inclined to support them in return. Most of my local sponsors are companies owned by veterans and competitive shooters that honestly look at it more like charity than advertising.
  15. Well I'll test the mag Thursday with the stock spring/follower, and if it works fine I'll be ordering 2 spring kits and another base pad from Taylor Freelance. Then some time in the next week or two I'll be able to functions test both mags and both sets of springs/followers. I'm just holding off on ordering the others until I know I'm not buying something that ends up being finnicky. Not that I'm too worried about it, Taylor Freelance is an excellent company.
  16. That makes me incredibly hopeful. These pads are billed as 27+1, so they could potentially be 29+1 with a Grams kit ?
  17. Must've been a typo ? Gun and mag extension are both due in Thursday, so I'll have some SCIENCE! shortly.
  18. Last I heard @kneelingatlas was in talks with PD about having them create a regular cutting/threading/comp package. And I believe you're right, at one point Atlas said all you'd need to do to use his comp for 40 would be to drill out the bore.
  19. Shipped just now, I should be able to test it out late this week or early next week, along with my yet-to-arrive Limited. I'm also probably going to order a Grams kit to see how much you can cram into one of these, and to see if it affects reliability at all. Being essentially the same price as Henning 140s, if this first one works I think I'll end up with 3 big sticks, which is just obscene.
  20. There's also the Tanfoglio Gold Team, not to mention myriad 2011s other than the STI DVC.
  21. I shot for a year with a slide mounted dot, and this last season switched to a frame mount, and it's night and day different. I too was in the camp of "slide mounted is just as good!" until I tried a frame mount for the first time. Now a lot of that could be attributed to switching from a Burris Fastfire 3 to a C-more Railway, and the difference in window size, but I think it's still drastically different, even if I were to switch back to the Burris. My pitch to you, and to anyone else who's considering using a slide mounted optic over a frame mounted optic for Open Division is think of it in terms of reciprocating weight vs. non-reciprocating weight. When you mount a red dot to your slide near or in lieu of your rear sight you're adding weight that has to move, or reciprocate, every time the action cycles. And you're adding it to the back of the slide too, which is the worst place to have extra weight. This extra reciprocating weight will cause your gun to flip upwards more during its recoil cycle, and force you to take longer to reacquire your dot. On the flipside you have frame mounts, which add to the non-reciprocating weight of the gun, which is helpful to absorbing recoil and staying steady while you shoot. This is the reason you'll see most top Open shooters using steel framed guns with lightened slides; they're minimizing reciprocating weight, and maximizing non-reciprocating weight to help absorb recoil and reduce muzzle flip. They also typically favor front heavy guns with full dust covers and long compensators for similar reasons. That's aside from the obvious advantage of not having your dot rocketing back and forth every shot, and I can't vouch for the Open shooters in your area, but if you were to look at the top 50 shooters each year in the USPSA Nationals, I'd suspect you wouldn't find a single slide mounted dot, which shows there's a general consensus among the pros.
  22. If you're specifically interested in atlas' comp you can either get a Gold Team top end and his comp will thread onto the non-ported barrel, or you can order a 6" barrel from EAA for your limited and have it cut and threaded for his comp. I'm going the latter route, since the barrel is $190 and the comp is $260, not accounting for gunsmithing costs for cutting and threading. If I'm not mistaken buying and cutting a barrel also ends up being slightly longer and heavier than a Gold Team, and you'll lose out on the slide cuts that a Gold Team has. Apolo would probably know best how functionally different they are.
  23. What sorcerer did you strike a deal with to get that?

I knew this was coming, but it's still better than I expected. What're those grips on the top center gun? @kneelingatlas
