  1. That sounds like an epicly bad idea. Taking out one of 2 sear springs to reduce pull is one thing. Taking out a spring that could completely disable a safety feature is completely different story. I’ve only removed one sear spring till I can get my hands on a GG comp sear and springs. Just spend a few $ and take the proper route to reducing pull dont go messing with functionality especially in regards to a safety function.
  2. Gotcha, didn't think about the optic being on there just the magwell in general.
  3. Not an actual picture just yet, just a photoshop mockup on a cerakote job I'm considering doing later this year.
  4. Actually unless I'm mistaken the magwell only sends you to limited in USPSA. It's only prohibited specifically in production. https://uspsa.org/viewer/Feb_2014_Handgun_Rules.pdf

Def not the sear. Everything is well lubed and the grittyness comes during takeup before the trigger pressure ever hits the sear. I’ve polished up contact areas between the trigger bar and the fcu and that helped a little. You can feel the resistance pick up after pretravel and it feels a bit gritty, then it hits the sear. Theres a little bit of travel where you can feel the sear sliding down the striker engagement then it breaks fairly crisply. (Havent actually recieved the pelt2 yet, should be here friday)
  6. The pelt2is in stock btw. Just not the full competition kit with sear. Ordered mine saturday I believe and its supposed to be here this friday. They said they plan to release parts to upgrade from the basic trigger kit to upgrade to the full comp setup in the future so I figured I might aswell go ahead and make some improvements since theyve said the comp kit is gonna be in stock “this coming week” for the last 3 weeks.
  7. In your opinion whats the risk? After removing one from mine I’m actually surprised how little the pull changed. I expected a greater decrease in felt pull but it seems like much of the pull weight is coming from other parts of the mechanism. The safety disconnect movement, friction between trigger bar etc.

I broke down last night and went ahead and ordered the pelt2 since they were in stock. On GGI's facebook it was mentioned that they plan on adding an option to get the rest of the comp kit minus what's included in the pelt kit seperately for ppl to upgrade without buying the whole thing so I figured wth. Broke the pistol down after a range session today and removed one of the sear springs. Break definitely seems lighter. My bigger issue with it now is the pre-sear takeup grittyness. I think its from the drop safety being lifted up out of the way as that feels a little rough and gritty when pushing it in and out with my finger. I'm hoping the improved geometry of the pelt2 will help with it a little. Anyone have any other suggestions for curing it? Other than a few thousand rounds ofc That bit of pre-wall scrub is all thats keeping it from being a really nice trigger. Shooting quickly it's not an issue but with longer range slow fire it throws off my pull a bit. Also went ahead and ordered a GG guide rod and a calibration spring set w 11-15# springs so looking forward to getting that thrown in soon as well.

My error. I saw that GG says the pelt2 has a lesser effect on the x5. The fact that its the x5’s factory trigger that makes the difference certainly makes more sense. No one has concerns about offset wear when removing one of the sear springs? Seems GG’s full competition set has been delayed again. Every week its “next week.”

Considering just getting a pelt2 and doing some light polishing as opposed to the entire comp trigger kit. My understanding is that the x5 already has a lower pull than the other 320’s so the sear and springs wont have as much effect on an x5 as others. Accurate or should I go ahead and wait for the full kits to arrive? Have also heard ppl talk about removing one of the 2 sear springs, concerned if it may cause offset, uneven wear and pull.

Thanks to all for all the helpfull info btw. I’ve shot for a long time but only just getting into customizing and going to try to start taking part in local uspsa matches.

Sounds like the 13# is the best bet and is most common when shooting around 130pf. The tungsten rod sounds nice but at $100 its considerably larger investment than the GG fat rod. As far as $100+ mods go I’ll probably just stick with the GG trigger. Are the wolff recoil springs decent quality or should I continue looking?

Definetly planning on the ammo change. The first box of 115 gr I picked up using cash saved from mil/vet discount. Just a matter of finding a good local source for something in 147 gr. What about the GG guide rods weight? Any difference there? I’ll probably go ahead and pick one up but curious as to any differences that may effect the feel. For the springs, browsing around I found wolff springs reduced power 1911 spring calibration set (11-15lbs.) I assume this would be sufficient?

Any purpose in upgrading to a grayguns guide rod with the included 15lb spring if I’m shooting factory ammo? Best I’ve been able to find is that the factory spring is somewhere 15-17 lbs so I’m not even sure just how much different it would be from whats already in it. I dont have the means just yet to start loading my own ammo and the local range doesnt allow home loads anyway so I’ve been looking for some factory low recoil match rounds but if I’m still shooting standard 115 gr rounds most of the time is there likely to be much benefit from their custom guide rod and spring even if the factory spring is on the high end at 17lbs? Its a fairly cheap custom part and I’m waiting on more competition trigger kits to come in so I was considering adding one to the tab while I’m at it.
  15. Depends on the holster. I grabbed a safariland one today when I picked up my x5. Its designated as xcarry and xcompact but its open ended so it still fits just fine.

This may have been asked and answered before but I didnt turn it up in a search. I read somewhere that the new mags being shipped by Sig (square peg) will work in all 320's. Probably going to pick up an xfive tomorrow and just wanted to confirm if anyone has gotten any 10-17 rounders and confirmed they will fit in the x five full size with the mag well removed.
