The pelt2 alone reduces pull on the x5 by a very small amount. Most ppl report .3 - .5 lb. I put one in mine and could tell no difference by feel. In my opinion the pelt2 alone is really meant more as a flat trigger upgrade for standard 320’s with a curved trigger. The rest of the kit is (sear and springs) is where the real change in pull comes from in an x5.

Shhhhhhhh! J/k. Got my email and immediately ordered my (no trigger) kit. Finally!

The trigger doesnt actually move forward ofc. Just the break point. Whether or not its uncomfortable would be a matter of preference. I’m currently shooting in a marksmanship league that doesnt allow any trigger mods so I’m personally just waiting for it to end before installing one.

Thats what I’m wanting it for. I dont know if I’ll ever be able to find a gray guns set and dont know if it will do as much for pretravel as the apex bar.

Could have sworn I posted this last night but as I mentioned before, if/when sig will sell this part. As far as I’m aware they dont and wont.

Cant shoot an optic in production or limited classes.

Looking back at it it doesnt look like it does. Just a fixed sight. Kinda dissapointing. They limited sight options hard with that optics ready plate. It looks like the only option is to get a standard full size or vtac slide if/when they ever offer them seperately but even then I dont think the bull barrel would fit so the x5 is really stuck as is.

I find 3 dots much quicker to aquire than the installed “competition” sights as well and dont particularly like the fibre front for indoor range shooting. Its basically impossible to swap the rear sight though unless they start selling the sight plate off of the x-carry. With one of those you could really put whatever you want on. ( I think... it has a standard dovetail groove doesnt it?)

No reason why not. The pelt2 and apex triggers arent a lot different other than feel/shape. Both of them just alter the geometry a little by changing the length of the arm. Was just looking at thr grayguns site. It not surprisingly states that its ONLY supposed to be used with their trigger. Of course they would say that anyway but I suppose that depending on geometry changes of the trigger and sear combined it may be possible to create a situation where the sear doesnt return to the proper position so if trying it I’d say do it safely and with only 2 rounds in the magazine till you confirm it functions properly under stress and recoil.

I know theres at least one person here who had tried it. You can find a post about it a few pages back. Ultimately its gonna be personal preference.

Most people wouldnt recommend a < 3 lb trigger for carry. Executing a safe draw and firing under duress with a trigger that light isnt very safe. If what you want is less travel without going much lighter the apex trigger bar might be a better choice. Though you might be able to keep the factory springs in place and just replace the sear for a more crisp break and some travel reduction without quite as much reduction in pull weight as well. Chances of getting hold of an apex bar are 100% however while you may be waiting a while like the rest of us for the full grayguns package. Neither will effect built in safety mechanisms.

I believe I did. I know I signed up for it at atleast twice, maybe 3 times. Once when browsing the site looking for one, again when Bruce posted a link to do so on the facebook post for the kit. And I believe a third time when I left a post on their facebook page about the fact I never recieved a notification for the previous batch and he recommended I register again.

Have personally pretty much given up on grayguns kit any time this year. Their last update on the website was 2 months ago and before that the previous 2 times the did offer any they were gone within minutes. Both times I was already on the notification list and both times I recieved no notification. I got the pelt2 by itself and on an x5 it makes pretty much zero difference.

Shouldnt need to mess w the serial #. The changes are visually quite apparent and like has already been said if you bought it new that recently it most likely is already the newer version. It definetly wont drop the pull to 3.5. As far as I’m aware the changes reduce the standard 320 a tiny bit but the x5 is gonna remain pretty much the same around 5lbs.

    P320 X5 Thread

I have the same problem regularly with the x5, I actually have it less with the standard 320 grip module thanks to the small bit of protection of the slide release they added. It also comes with a smaller slide release which I leave in with both modules that I dont hit quite as often. As for ammo, so far I've shot a few hundred rounds of sig 115gr, 1k rounds of speer lawman 124gr, 1k rounds of fiocchi 158 gr and just shot 250 rounds of UMC 147 gr today. I haven't had any feed problems or duds that weren't related to testing light springs or putting my thumb where it doesnt belong. I have to say though, if the first 250 rounds is any indication UMC is garbage for accuracy. I had to spend time resetting the sights (it shoots MUCH lower than any of the other rounds, 6 inches at 15ft and about a foot or more at 75) and even then I was hitting all over the place at 75ft (relatively.) I've already ordered another 1k rounds of the speer lawman as its a lower pf than anything other than the 158gr and it's about $100 per thousand cheaper. It is quite dirty though. The fiocchi has been the cleanest by far. Unfortunately I shot a scored target for the local league today the first time using the UMC which was a big mistake that left me with a pretty terrible score.?
  17. Would say it depends on your ergo preference. The standard and x5 feel very different and you may prefer one over the other.
  18. Sounds correct. Dont know why they arent selling it with the grip weight and magwell. Somewhat annoying.
  19. To my knowledge they still dont offer sizes for the x5 modules. The standard full size modules come in s/m/l but the x5 only comes in med.

    Polished barrel

The majority of examples I found removing the finish has little to no effect corrosion wise. Stainless still is still stainless steel. The original barrels were plain steel so unless they changed the steel used in the barrel there shouldnt be much use for the coating bar appearance.

    Polished barrel

Had anyone tried polishing out one of the p320 barrels to a mirror finish? I like the look of the early SS finish barrels but dont want to buy some sort of aftermarket barrel just for cosmetics. I’ve read that some barrels can be soaked in vinegar or something similar then buffed out to a shine but dont know just how effecive it is or if it even works on sigs barrel finish.
  22. Re-reading your post. It sounds to me like your initial ammo was just too weak and the gun is too tight to switch to a that light of a spring. I’d switch to a higher power round and wouldnt use less than a 14lb spring to start then move down to a 13lb once the gun is broken in a little more. The gun shoots quite flat to begin with so shooting a 147gr round with that little muzzle velocity shouldnt really be necessary to get it shooting comfortably. It might be fine in other pistols but as mentioned by most ppl the x5 is fit quite tightly. That could make it a little finicky with very low power rounds.
  23. Have had zero such problems with my x5 with reasonable springs. Has anyone else tried the pistol and had the same problems? I also dont think going to a lighter spring is going help the pistol return to battery. The only time I’ve ever had the slide come forward and stop short of fully chambering the round was when I tried an 11 lb spring. A spring that light just doesnt have enough power to properly chamber a round into a barrel so tightly fit. Biggest problem I’ve had is my thumb pressing on the slide release more than with other pistols. It has caused the slide to lock back mid-magazine and leaves me with a closed slide on an empty mag all too often.
  24. Particularly considering the springer magwell requires gunsmith fitting. Its not bolt on. The $60 is just for the part, not the installation.
  25. I’m new to uspsa shooting as well and recently got my own x5. I’ve added the stainless guiderod from grayguns and purchased a spring kit from wolff springs (11-15 lbs.) I’ve installed a flat face pelt2 trigger which in all honesty (without actually using a pull gauge) hasnt seemed to effect the pull much at all. I’ve used mag polish to put a fine finish on most every friction point in the gun and that seems to have had the most positive effect. For ammo and springs I too dont have the time/space to do my own reloading so I’ve been experimenting with various factory ammo and various different springs. Sig sauer ammo, 115 gr shot clean but very snappy. Speer lawman, 124 gr shoots a little snappy still but VERY dirty. I have to use a pick to actually scrape all the built up off the internals after 200 rounds. Now I’m shooting fiocchi 158 gr subsonic. Its much cleaner than the speer ammo and has very little muzzle flip but definetly pushes like a 45. Even though its much less snappy and causes less flip I left the range with a soreness in my hand and forearm that I dont get with the light ammo. It is really flat shooting but for my budget I cant really afford to keep buying it in 1k round batches so I plan to try some 147 gr next. For the springs I’ve tried as low as a 12lb and I’ve found that with a 13 lb spring (one thats commonly recommended by i think ppl who handload) I get very little muzzle dip when the slide comes forward but the initial recoil is still snappy and I get a little too much muzzle rise. Instead now I’ve swithed to the 15lb spring that comes with the grayguns guide rod and I find it pretty much perfect with all the factory loads I’ve tried. I’ve also removed one sear spring. I did this for a while, went back to both, and now back to a single again. With the factory sear I find it helps to reduce the amount of creep I feel. I’m also on the list for the grayguns kit and I’m also considering the apex trigger bar because I’d like to reduce overall travel and move the break a little further forward. Lastly I ordered a p320 full size grip in large and I prefer the size, ergo and roundness of that grip over the rather flat x5 grip module. The size helps keep me from over tightening my grip and feels more solid in my hand even though it lacks the grip weight in the x5 module. Anyway, just another newbies experience if its any help.
