  1. Thanks. We have an excellent club, and even a few women that have already mentioned I should bring her. Her main thing is the audience. I’ve just been working with her to help be more comfortable with the mechanics of shooting in general right now.
  2. Depends on the day. Sometimes I do.. But others times I’d like to get her into it. She needs a hobby anyway
  3. You are braver than I! Lo-Cap minor icky!
  4. Interesting you say that. I had that same conversation with a couple RO's in Iowa, ironically at the same range the Iowa Sectional is at... They said the exact same thing. I get that it's supposed to hurt, but when it didn't give you a competitive advantage anyway, and was unintentional, why cant they just move you to limited?
  5. Valid question. My wife likes to shoot, and is generally a pretty decent shot.. But, she's terrified of shooting with an audience. If it's just her and I, she does great, and enjoys herself. If there's more than a couple people at a range, she won't shoot. I got her to shoot indoor league (stationary targets, changing scenarios each week for 6 weeks), but I'd like to eventually get her to try USPSA at some point. I considered taking her to a few steel challenge matches to get the feel for shooting on a timer. Anyone have any other suggestions? I'm just making it a point to try not to push anything on her so she wont shoot at all.
  6. Have you considered just using hand warmers before/between stages? They work wonders really. (Especially shooting in colder temperatures in Iowa). I use them for work as well, they help alooooooooooooooooot.
  7. I didn’t see a thread but I get a kick out of dad jokes, so I’ll start. What did the janitor say when he jumped out of the closet? ....SUPPLIES!
  8. Demon puppy Quinn. Not pictured: Angel Dog (Golden retriever) Remi
  9. Same here. (Except I shoot SS). I've always found it easier to plan where my reloads are going to be and remember that during the walk through, rather than counting my way through it. I also make it a point to make a mental note if I know I have to clean something for the stage plan to work, and reload to get my barney back if necessary.
  10. I wish that were the case, but they won’t even fit over the belt because it’s 1/8” thicker than the pouches Just curious if this is something anyone else has run into, or if I should just replace the belt.
  11. I’m considering getting my P320 slide milled for C/O. As I’m in the very beginning stages of research, I’ll ask: Ballpark cost Is it worth having done, or should I just try to get ahold of an RX slide and do a DPP? Recommendations of where to have it done Am I stuck with one dot pattern or can it be done similar to glock’s MOS? (Forgive the dumb question, I really don’t know. Never had a dot on a pistol.) What else do I need to know? Lay it on me! Thanks in advance
  12. What he said. It comes down to personal preference and what works for you. I personally prefer a fiber optic front (green) and black rear. I started with 3 dot Novak’s and that was ok, but I had a tendency to lose the front sight occasionally. The only sights I could never figure out how to like are the all black front and back. Just never worked for me..
  13. So, I got ahold of some Safariland 771’s. Love the pouches, heard great things.. But... The clamp they are mounted with is 1 7/16”, while my * 1 1/2”* black scorpion belt is 1 9/16”. I can’t make them fit without notching the hell out of the belt. Do DAA/Safariland belts run more true to the 1 1/2” size they say they are? I’d really like to use the 771s rather than the blade techs I have been using for the last season. I’ve had really good luck with the black scorpion for The last couple years until now. Thanks in advance.
  14. Thanks for all the responses. I’ll definitely check into all of those.
  15. Letter from a thief - Chevelle. They had all their stuff stolen on your, guy decided to return it, and they wrote a song about it. That was my favorite chevelle album, actually
  16. What does everyone use? I have 6 blade techs that I’m really not a fan of. I’ve read safari land makes some really solid ones, but I’d like to see what my fellow SS guys prefer.
  17. I guess I’m just weird. I’m 26 and love it. If I go back to limited I’ll get a 2011 to stay on the 1911 platform.
  18. I have. And if we had *any* revo shooters in my area, I’d consider. But as mentioned above for SS shooters in his area, the numbers just aren’t here. There’s a decent amount of SS shooters in my area. Quite a few of them are much better than I am. I
  19. Any idea which/where that is? I was really looking forward to that match and hope they do in fact save it.
  20. Wish I could make that one this year.. Unfortunately it's not doable or me this time! Hopefully that one stays around...
  21. It’s unfortunate! You could call me a younger shooter, but I enjoy the challenges presented by it. It literally forces you to be better.. Because if you miss once it can throw a whole stage plan.
  22. I was disappointed to see the Single Stack Classic was cancelled for 2019. I didn't make it last year, and was pretty pumped to go this year. What are the chances another range saves that match? With the growth of C/O and PCC, it seems like the low-cap divisions are losing more popularity. Thoughts?
  23. It really depends on how fast the star is. If it’s a little slower, I go: Top, left, right, left, right. If it’s faster, I still start on the top and work my way around. Just don’t go top, bottom
  24. I have heard good things about MSR Sordin’s, by have no personal experience, and they are expensive. May be something for you to look into. For the price my Howard Leights have been ok. Nothing more or less.
